I recently got into AGoT LCG by playing it with a few friends. I bought a core set and 5 of the six expansions, martell was what I didn't get in case you were wondering. Now I am looking into getting more competitive decks with the chapter packs. I like playing Lannister and Baratheon so far.
New Player, Where to go from here?
Pretty standard advice, but if you are interested in building a competitive or strong deck, you can check agotcards.org or cardgamedb.com for decklists and at least some of them will say "Nationals 1st place", etc. and be Baratheon or Lannister.
Based on those decklists, you can check which packs you are missing to have all the necessary cards.
Plus there are standard packs which are advised to be bought (though I don't remember names right now=/) and you can look up these forums or forums on those 2 other sites where people answer questions of new players.
PS. cardgamedb.com is running ridiculous amount of articles' series where people write about strategies, deckbuilding theory, best archetypes for different Houses (including Baratheon and Lannister=) and so on.

This is probably your best bet, there is tons of advice being offered for all levels of play, if nothing else the articles may help the creative process for you. Old standard advice on a place to start would be the Refugees CP for the Refugee characters and Ancient Enemies for the Fury Plots, especially if you play a lot o melee.
Get more Lanni and Bara decks from the CS. It's crucial. Other than that, focus on the King's Landing cycle at first. Lots of good stuff for both Houses there, especially the Lannister.
