Just wondering if a target lock r5 makes activates Vander's skill. Seems like a good combo if so.

It does. However, R5-K6 is unreliable. I personally prefer to use an astromech that I know is going to work 100% of the time.
Good point, though that heavily depends on what you want out of the ship in question. If I'm running Vander it's probably as support for the real hitters. Thanks for the answer though.
You want your ship not to die from sticking its arse out in the line of fire. R2 Astromech. Dutch needs to be Johnny on the spot with ion hits and free target locks. Sometimes that means using a turn to make a red maneuver to stay safe or get into position.
The generic R2 is probably my favorite astromech to put on a Y-Wing.
Yeah, a generic R2 on a Y-wing gives really good returns for 1 point.
