Falcon is for sale - $250 on eBay

By StupidPanic, in X-Wing

In a way, I'm horrified. And yet, in another way, I'm not at all surprised. Like someone said already, if the world championship prize had been somehow unique then all's well, but the fact you're winning the same product that will be released in three months anyway would probably make anyone with a brain enough to win such a tournament think they should sell this now and cash in, then just buy their own ship in three months. So I don't blame him.

But I'm still horrified lengua.gif

He will find some total moran willing to shell out the money…..I've seen it happen so many times with CMG's

Not surprisingly nothing sold. It will be interesting to see if he relists and if so, at what price point. I think he could have sold it for $500 if it was complete instead of breaking out some cards as separate auctions.

What it sold? Darn, I was about to pull the trigger on this auction - I hope he relists, and I don't care if its double the price I am not missing it again. ;)

This is 100% true. By breaking it up he can only market it to people who play the X-Wing game. By leaving it sealed he can also market it to collectors.

Then again, since it's going to be printed en masse in a few months and there's nothing unique about the original wave of Falcons, there's very little collectible value to be had.

I understand capitalising on a rare model or card for any collectible game but his approach is hilariously stupid. there are plenty of players willing to pay over the odds for this mini, but not that much. He would be better shifting it at a much lower price that is still a markup over the RRP before the models are out officially or else he will look like a tool waiting for some mug to pay that price.
