100 points rebels

Here is my first attempt at a 100 point list for our up coming local kestle run event.

X wing/rookie pilot 21

x wing/rookie pilot 21

y wing/Dutch vander (ion cannon,r2 astomech) 29

x wing/Biggs dark lighter (r2d2) 29

i can see (as I'm sure we all can) how good a combination Biggs and r2 make. By this I mean that the up coming event scores us on how many points we can take from our opponents and I can't see many better combinations of fighter plus upgrades to stop my opponent being able to take points from me by positioning Biggs where he needs to be to take hits/not take hits.

the y wing choice was made due too it's tank ish nature and Dutch has a nice little extra action rule,he's not many more points than a normal y wing and with the inclusion of the astro mech for 1 point that lets me treat all 1 and 2 manoeuvres as green manoeuvres it does help over come a bit of the y wings downsides (although not all I know)

having an ion cannon will give me some options to ignore a ship when the opportunity arises. Being the tank it is it will hopefully be quite hard for my opponents to get points from especially when couled with Biggs and r2.

the two rookie pilots in their x wings are still a threat and due to Biggs and dutchs initiative I was not too worried about their initiative.

my questions are

by running the two rookie pilots and therefore giving myself 4ships am I not able to arm my fighters with what you guys have found they need ( torpedoes etc….)

i have played 6 games so far and have no experience of the torpedoes/missiles?

would you include the y wing?

general thoughts on the list?

Biggs is going to die before R2 D2 does much good at all

Definitely include a Ywing with Ion Cannons. Every single Rebel squad should have one. And you should consider R2F2 with Biggs over R2D2. R2F2 is far more useful on Biggs, as he will be dead before R2D2 ever heals one of his shields.

just had a look at r2f2 card and I can see the agility bonus being usefull,this swap out would leave me with a point free to spend aswell,any ideas?

what concerned me with both of your replys is that you think Biggs will be dead before I get to regen my shields,in my limited experience my group of players and I don't tend to take out a tie fighter in one round (it does happen,x wing range band 1 target lock etc…. But not all the time)let alone an x wing!

what am I missing,is it the additional use of missiles/torpedoes?

i really want to win the yt1300 at this local tornament
