Great job. Please get hired by FFG and have this published officially.
Haha, thank you! I'd love to work for FFG but I should probably get through college first!
(But seriously I would love to work for you guys.)

This is great stuff! Hope you don't mind if I use it as a basis for RT conversions. I particularly liked the grapple rules change; easily for the better *cough*
Didn't see Adepta Sororitas or Battle Sister in the specialisations- should I use an altered Cleric or Guardsmen as the base for them?

I'm glad you like it! Rogue Trader stuff is actually next on my to-do list, along with Ascension. I'm actually making up playable Ork stuff right now!
Grapple rules are hard and complicated. If you really want my opinion, just make it an opposed Strength test and then don't be stupid about it.
Battle Sisters were hard to balance (even if I scaled them down from Power Armour to Carapace, they're still rocking a Bolter and some sweet grenades) so I would just use a Cleric with the Flamer, and then use your starting Acquisition for Guard Flak.
Excellent! Glad you're focusing on the most important Career, anyway; who needs humies?
Will Rogue Traders be on the same level as the DH conversons? I was hoping to keep the Origin Path system, though whatever you choose I suppose it wouldn't be hard to change.

They'll be quite a bit better off in terms of gear (and they'll have a higher Logistics/Profit Factor/Influence/Whatever on top of it) and likely have more skills.
I've never been a huge fan of the Origin Path, but I could try and figure something out. I want to do something like it for Ascension, so that your grizzled Inquisitorial veterans are actually insane and missing limbs, so something like that can't be too out of the question.
Kroot done. Orks partway done. Eldar groundwork is down.
Rogue Trader and Ascension careers are on the plate next, along with more Radical options and more xenos.
Is it just me, or is the link no longer working?

Give this one a shot.

Interesting grapple mechanics there… lol.
Looks very cool, i just found this so ill be reading through it all a bit later. Looks promising o far
Very interesting! My GM is actually mixing up DH with the newer books… the psionics part is being a pain
We'll try to convert the Minor and Arcana powers to OW-style
I'm about to convert our longstanding DH game over to the OW system and while looking for issues I found this. Most impressive work done here I must say! I'll be going through this this weekend to see if it fits our purposes!
Out of curiosity, are you still working on this project? Are there any looming updates?

I'll admit to not touching this in several months! School started back up and it's stolen all of my free time. That said, I have been fiddling with idea of reworking Deathwatch in a similar fashion. I'm also aware that my Arbitrator/Enforcer career here isn't up to par, and I've tinkered with a little bit of Ascension stuff. Solid requests woul certainly spur me on!
I hope your group finds it to work well. Any feedback you can give would be wonderful!

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but I'm about to start a game using your work, Plushy. So I might be able to provide some insight soon.

It's here, ladies and gents! I've used the framework of Only War (the beta, more specifically) to create a modernized Dark Heresy - a sort of Second Edition, if you will - with a lot of conversion work. There's content brought in from all across the game lines (lots of Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader) plus a heaping spoonful of homebrew. The power-level is somewhere between basic Dark Heresy and the current Only War. I hope you take a look, and as the title says; Please, Evaluate and Critique Honestly.
The link leads to a Google Docs folder, with four documents inside; Specializations, Home Worlds and Origins, Elite Advances/Background Packages, and Converted Talents.
I would love to see some people playtest this, as my group has recently scattered to the four winds.
I hope you don't mind my jumping in ( probably a little late ), but I just bought OW, and finished reading through it for the first time, and have a couple of observations-
I find the character generation as found in RT to give a more original feel ( and about the same with DH ) - take Void Born:
-5 STR +5 WILL, -5 Fellowship to non Void Born, Ship Language, Pilot ( Void Ships ) and Nav ( Stellar ).
If I am reading the OW conversion correctly, you take:
+3 to any two of the three characteristics, + Lang ( low gothic ) + common lore ( Imp ) + Operate ( void ships ) or Nav ( stellar ) + peer ( void born ) + disturbing voice
The OW conversion really doesn't do much to shift a characters starting stats to show an obvious place of origin, a simple + 3 to any two of three listed stats can easily be lost in dice rolls, while a -5 and + 5 are not so easily lost. Giving a peer talent, doesn't play the same or roll the same as having an automatic -5 to dealings to all other groups. According to DH and RT, Void Born know comparatively little of the Imperium outside of their ship, so why would they have Common Lore ( Imp )? Finally, what is the use of having Pilot ( void ships ) and not being able to navigate that void ship?
I would probably maintain the majority of the RT/DH origin, something like -5 STR +5 WILL, -5 Fellowship to non Void Born, Ship Language, Pilot ( Void Ships ) and Nav ( Stellar ) ] and add the aptitude Agility or Fieldcraft ( Void ) to include void ships and void stations ( both of them would fit the requirements for surviving the Void ), to balance the -5 Fellowship and loss of Charmed. This also alows for the more complex character generation as found in RT, to be used.
Thoughts?
While I haven't worked on this in a long while, I am pleased enough with it to refer people here if they dislike the actual Dark Heresy Second Edition.
If you're put off on the new Action Points system and the butchery of the Armoury, take a look at all this.
Ah, good to remember this. I will see whrere the beta will go, but unless somebody changes Magnitude (100) Horde of Advancement Tables and cut down chunky parts of that Action Points travesty, we will end with some Only War/Dark Heresy 2.0 (Only Heresy?) mashup. Lets be honest, character creation in Beta is realy cool.

The new CharGen and the further cut down on Skill Bloat/increase to Skill utility is about all I like.
Narrative Tools is overlooked gem of the Beta, investigation, subtlety/overt influence and social encounters are well done. Some new talents might be tweaked into the OW open system as well.
It seems like Plushy and Snap_Dragon both have two sets of rules -- one to convert Rogue Trader to Only War, one to convert Dark Heresy to Only War. Are you all going to work together, to encourage the systems to be more similar or whatever? Here's the other set of rules:
I like both quite a bit!
After spending some time looking at the Dark Heresy 2e beta, I think an Only War conversion is actually more what I'm looking for. Will check this out. Thanks, Plushy!
