Good grief people it really is not that big a deal. First world problems…

The event sounds like a lot of fun and has great prizes to boot. Trying to get my store to run it.

Same here. A tournament could be fun, even if I have to wait for my interceptors.

Not ideal, but I still appreciate the update… which were few and far between for the initial release (and, in all honesty, given it was just recently marked as at the printer I figured something like this would happen).

I'm in the group that is glad we'll get to see previews / spoilers starting mid-December. That was mostly fun last time (six or so weeks between Gencon and official release date), though it also made me more excited about the game that I had to wait a long time to get, which was a little frustrating.

I'm hoping the LGS I play at will consider participating so we can see the new ships.

The Kessel Event sounds amazing! I know that I will be stopping my LGS to see if they can get in on this event. The thought of checking out the new stuff really appeals to me. It is unfortunate that we will have to wait until Feb to get these awesome ships, but it seems that delays are part of doing business with miniature games. Not surprising, but a little disappointing.

yeah,

Spoilers are a bad thing now?

Panic…

oh, boy! here we go again.

Really don't think this is some hype for hype's sake thing. No company in their right mind would purposely miss out on the retail holiday season.

**** happens. Simple as.

Disappointing to be sure, but that's how it goes sometimes.

I have no idea if there will be any of these events anywhere near me. I still think it's a great idea. Release delays are a pretty miserable (though often unavoidable) situation. It's nice to see a company that is at least giving SOMETHING to their customers to fill in the gap caused by a delay. I wish more companies did this. I'll be happy to take part if possible, and if not, I'll be happy to see the spoilers as they are released, and read the discussion threads about these pieces. For those who don't want to read spoilers or tactics about upcoming releases…can't you just avoid those threads? I've found myself pretty good over the years at bouncing out of a thread if I see a line of info that I don't know about, even if it hasn't been flagged with a "spoiler" tag.

Well this really sucks. First they wanted wave 2 a little after core set launch. Then December. Now they say February. How do we know FFG is not pulling our legs with this so called release date, too? I am mad as heck over this. enfadado.gif enfadado.gif enfadado.gif enfadado.gif enfadado.gif enfadado.gif Of course no one from FFG will say anything. FFG is gatting as bad as WOTC.

This is unfortunate, but Fantasy Flight is just doing what they can to maintain interest in light of a bad situation. I doubt all will be ruined, as we are unlikely to see full fledged formations of A-Wings and TIE Interceptors. As nice as the Falcon and Slave 1 are, I think many of us want squadrons of those and we'll still have to wait until February to see how that fleshes out.

Poor planing on FFG part. Of course I'm sure that these are being made in China and I'm all too familiar that nightmare. It took months for them to make a simple drip irrigation fitting with standard 1/2" pipe threads. It took them seven tries and 5 months. When finally finished, it still took almost 3 months before parts were in our hands.

Hopefully I don't get bored by then and cancel my pre order.

Fingers crossed serio.gif

Wow! This has been some interesting reading. A two Month delay with new ships is going to cause people to quit the game? Unbelievable. aplauso.gif

FFG uses Chinese factories because you and me would rather not pay $80-100 per ship. Your situation on the other hand, sounds like it could have been made in your garage.

The way Q4 was shaping up, something like this was inevitable. At least it makes for a lighter-on-my-wallet xmas, I suppose…!

LOL!! in my garage? Sure… why not. Doesn't everyone have a $50k injection molding machine laying around?

And no need to inform me on why things are made in China. I do a few $100k a year in business with them and understand the process ad nauseum.

My statement was in understanding on why they might have been delayed if it was a manufacturer based problem.

This is just normal FFG releases. When they hit a release date is the surprise. My FLGS owner called Feb delivery when they announced wave 2.

look on the bright side will give them more time to plan and develop wave 3 cool.gif

more time for us to home our skills and tactics on the ships we have

more time for us to dream of A wings and interceptors

more time to watch the escape from the death star scene till we know all the words and can do the sound effects without needing an audio file

Totally agree with you on the Christmas holiday season sales. Even though it seems the game and expansions are selling well, the sales for Christmas would have been better and the buzz it would generate would have been greater. Oh well, if this times out right, I will be using my income tax return to augment my collection even more. I just hope the wife doesn't have any plans for the return. preocupado.gif

I thought the OP said the delay is due to factory problems (in China). So why is there all this blaming of Fantasy Flight? They're probably just as pissed as anyone - even MORE so, since it hits them in their wallet and adversely affects the support of a fledgling game line that they have to pacy big bucks for. I'm definitely not happy about it either, but blaming FFG is like blaming the cow because her outdated milk is sour.

I can see FFG being peeved about this. This totally screws up a lot of their Christmas sales.

This is fairly normal for ffg.

On the up side time to get in touch with your local gaming stores and try get them to support the event.

I know my local shop onslaught games (Brighton, England) has put a request in. If anything this will be better for the game as it gives some shops a chance to show off xwing.

I remember when this game was supposed to be released this past February. So maybe this is Irony's way of assuring I get a February release after whining about it.

I totally agree. That screws up my Christmas list. serio.gif

I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed with this delay but it's not too far away after christmas anyway. Being in the UK wave 2 wouldn't have arrived until end of december/early january anyway, so it's moved to end of february/early march instead. At least I will have more money saved to buy several A-Wings and TIE Interceptors by then.

I also have to agree with earlier posts that this isn't FFG's fault if a factory in China has had production issues since it's costing them more money with a delay like this.

Finally if people are bothered about reading spoilers about the new models when those luck few win them, then maybe those lucky people could dump a spoiler tag on their thread name? It doesn't bother me personally but I guess it would be fair for some players.
