Just seen on Facebook, wave 2 ain't gonna be with us because of a factory poblem/delay until Feb 2013.
Kessel tournies have been announced for retailers, with the possibility of winning one of the wave 2 ships mid Dec.
Gutted, I wanted my falcon in my stocking, no surprises really, but still, ouch! Another 3 months until wave 2!
Any thoughts people?

Dang, what a bummer. I love this game, but the same four ships are getting stale.
Surely FFG will excuse the fans from making up their own ships in the time it takes for them to release "official" ones
Agreed, I'm dissapointed as well. It would have been nice to get some new rules and new minis for the holiday season, but sometimes these things just happen beyond the control of the best of folks.
Would have been nice for preorders to get first dibs at least, though not that I have one. At least it gives me a longer period of time to actually consider what it is I want to preorder with my discount from my local game store :

Oddly, this means I'll probably be able to buy more ships. I'm not sure that logic checks out with any other product, but it does with this one.

wow that sucks, I have like another $200+ worth of anime stuff that coincides with this $200+ worth of orders for the wave 2 ships.

I just bought my first wave 1 ship Monday so I'm fine with the delay since it will give me some time to get the rest of what I want from wave 1 before 2 shows up.
This is classic FFG, but the license is hot enough to keep people waiting, I suppose.
This leaves me more time to play WW2 flight sims and frees up some funds now that there's only (hopefully) the Star Wars LCG coming out in December.

I get the impression that they were going to do the 'Kessel Run Events' before the delays, and once the delays appeared decided to dress it up differently…
I accept that there were 'unavoidable' delays, but pre releasing the wave like this is a mistake IMO.
Releasing the expansion packs to a few lucky people 2-3 months early will result in show offs and hard feelings.
For months I've been excited and I preordered £100 of wave2 ships… to be one of the first to play with the new ships.
Now I expect on the 14th of december l will be told exactly what new cards are in each pack, the exact new rules, the new actions…
People will have talked these packs to death on the forums for the 2-3 months following the Kessel run.
The tactics, the good, the bad, must buy,
don't buy
to the point that the rest of us will
bored via proxy
of these new ships before we get the chance to play with them.

I'm just at a loss with some posters.
I'd rather they just give some generic trophy or some other gifts, say custom painted wave 1 ships or cards with different art etc.
With the delay are you sure the tournament is still on? Or is it going to move the tournament to February? I will be checking with my LGS.
This seems typical of FFG, annouce new items months in advace and then delay delivery even longer. I'm still waiting for Dust Tactics stuff that was announced in March for a June delivery!
I guess I can't be too angry, I'm still waiting to play my first game this weekend… That said I am disappointed. I was looking forward to a squadron of Tie Interceptors.

The event sounds like a lot of fun and has great prizes to boot. Trying to get my store to run it.

Due to a slight delay at the factory, the second wave of X-Wing expansions won’t be available until February. Fortunately, we were able to airship a limited number of these new expansion packs in order to make them available for a special preview event.
