Arkham Horror online?

By Guest, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

A while back I heard that an (unofficial I think) online version of Arkham Horror is in the making. This was half+ year ago. Is it ready? is it out?

Tnx ahead.

Sorry for double posting but I can't seem to find the edit option.

If there isn't an AH online, is there atleast an online version which you can play solo?

I wonder if FFG would consider doing something similar to what Days of Wonder did when they made Ticket to Ride into a computer game?

I wish.. I would totally pay for it...

Edit is in the white bar at the top of your individual post. It is pretty subtle, I'll admit.

I would pay for Arkham Online, unquestioningly. But I haven't heard anything about it - my only foray into Arkham software has been Strange Eons, which is a wonderful, wonderful tool :D

I doubt this would happen any time soon. Supposedly Wings of War & Tide of Iron are headed for the Xbox Live system. Given that the Talisman port to Xbox Live fell through last year and there haven't been any status updates about either Wings of War or Tide of Iron I am beginning to wonder if those projects are being scrapped.

there might be too much death in AH for an online game :)

I.... what? Isn't that what deathmatch games are all about?

BOOM HEADSHOT

as far as I can tell, online games need a lot of single player options, I don't think AH offers much of that. You need friends :)

And one might argue that all the encounters would not be a very good element of an online-game.. also all the dice-rolls would slow the game down... especially with the options to re-roll and spend clues..

Not true. An independent game called Armageddon Empires is turn based, uses dice rolling, rerolls, and the ability to spend points similar to the way clues are used; and has done quite well in this day and age.

Personally, I think a decent copy of Days of Wonder's Ticket to Ride computer game would work the best to turn Arkham Horror into a computer game. Have a simple depiction of the board, Investigator sheets, tokens, etc., add in multiplayer ability (practically required), and maybe have all the expansions available for a low price. Just have it that after rolling the dice and Failing, you have the options of using a Reroll Ability and/or Clues. It is not as hard as some of you make it out to be.

As for an MMORPG, those are **** expensive to operate. Most shut down within a year of release due to a lack of support, income, or interest. Server costs alone make up most of the expenses, plus you have to develop balance, constantly work to remove exploits/bugs/crashes, and what not. Yes, this is much harder then you all make it out to be.
