I received my Kenner Blockade Runner and it was VERY off-white even gray.
Looks like shading so I thought that's the way it originally came. But every picture I see is very white.
Did I get something left out to collect dust???

They are pretty white normally. The ones in the thread have been repainted. Maybe the previous owner of yours already painted it. Post some pics.
I think like the FFG models the Blockade Runners are not all identical as to the weathering or greying levels.
What the heck, have decided to scratch up a Nebulon B, always liked the freaky look...just looks like it should be floating around in space
My first decision really was size. Based on the picture below built to scale the Neb B would be 1.5M long, while easily do-able I just felt it was a little impractical for casual play an storing the **** thing on my already heaving shelves!
Anyhow, I have taken the decision to build this to a more suitable scale of about 50cm long, this puts it alongside my 'big ship' scale of the rest of the vessels in this thread and keeps everything pretty uniform, I also feel it offers a suitably impressive scale while still being practical to use in the sort of games I play
Now, I don't often do build blogs and I cant promise this will be a long winded thing as when I get stuck into something I usually tear through them without pausing for breath or pictures! However I have a lot of different projects on the go at the moment so maybe just maybe I may include a few more WIP pics than normal
First up, imagine a bald dude wandering around the toiletry department with a printout of a neb b in one hand and a puzzled look on his face toying with most of the shampoo bottles on the shelves, the things we suffer for our hobby!
End of the day, found what I was looking for and I reckon I will probably have the only Nebulon B that smells of ylang ylang and Iris this side of Hoth
Doesn't look like much right now but prepare for the magic to happen
Nice job on all the builds and I love the basses you made for them. I’m still stumped on what to do for a base for my build.
Hi Boomer, I picked up a couple of huge Xmas baubles from the pound shop a while back with the intention of making them into planets for X-wing. If your not wanting a functional game base one of these sliced in half and painted up like a planet might make for a nice base for your corvette. One half even has a hole for the acrylic rod to slot into
Of course you would have to drill a whacking great hole in the bottom of your pride and joy, or alternatively build a little support rig that screws onto the rod and the ship just sits on top, important factor is finding the centre of balance
Been doing a little work on it, haven't scratched anything up for ages and really enjoying it, bear in mind I aint going for exact replica here, usually once I get started on these things I like to let my imagination take over a little, admittedly mainly because I am a lazy so and so
What I am aiming for is a cool looking larger ship that offers up some more eye candy and is playable in an already brilliant and fun game that you someone can point at and say '''ooooh, that's a Neb B'
Anyhow, bum end pretty much finished, I am building the Neb B so it can be broken down into engine, spar and front section to aid transport and storing
99% card seeing as its cheaper than plastic and I have tons of the stuff!
Just for the record, old space marine helmets make nice turbo laser turrets, I knew 40k would eventually prove useful!
Good old pritt sticks, throw away the glue and use the tubes for thrusters!
Totally awesome, keep those updates coming!
How long are you making it/what scale? 1/270 for the Nebulon B is what... 30-something in/80-something cm?
Now that I have my own Kenner BR, I kinda like the 1/370 scale for big ships.

hahaha... great... it seems that you have an Big Mek orkish spirit...
Great job... looking forward for your advances....
That is AWSOME!!!!!!!!
RealGenius, aint got a clue what scale it is to be honest, I don't deal with grown up stuff like that, realistically it should be about 1.5m in length but that's simply not practical for casual gaming purposes and it takes up a lot of space on my already full shelves! This version will be approx. 50cm long which fits in with my other 'big' ships. I figure you cant really go totally scale without sceriously limiting your choice of larger ships so I am happy to just use the models such as the destroyer, cruiser and Neb as 'big nasty ships' and feed them into the existing rules by making them well 'ard. had a few games using the corvette and my bases work pretty well and more important the little guys wizzing around the larger ships look friggin cool and help to build the atmosphere
Anyhow
Done a little more work on the Neb. Central spar finished, will probably add a few docking pegs so the falcon and fighters can be attached during games, will make for some fun scenarios. Started work on the front end, if nothing gets in the way should have the build work finished by tomorrow I reckon, not much left to do now
Right, that's most of the building done, now onto the fun stuff, painting! Sadly it's gotta go in the cupboard for a couple of weeks while I clear my table of a few paying jobs, in the meantime here's some pics of the finished bird
Still got to put together a base of course so I borrowed the cruiser one for now
Added some pegs to the central spar which allow ships to be 'docked', there is also an open bay on the vane that fits a smaller fighter perfectly, might build a little shuttle for it, should make for some fun scenarios
Whole thing breaks down into 3 more manageable smaller parts coz its a real shelf hog!
well done. very well done.
I'm just in awe, sir. Can't wait to see it painted!
Wonderful...
The docking for the rebel ships pushes this model over the top.
Excellent stuff indeed. The Imperials also used these so it would be awesome to see a pic of it with a couple of TIE fighters hanging off it...please.
I just have two things toi say here: 1) Wow! 2) I hate you
I hate you to......i can't find the time to do a simple red5 paint job and you've built a fricken frigate model!...gggaaawwwddd
brilliant work
I don't have the time and mine would look like a wreck!
Great Job! I really like your stuff.
Undercoated the Neb B and put together a base. Its only a prototype so locations might change but I had to be a little 'artistic' with target locations to keep things relatively in the areas they should be while still allowing for a nice smooth gameplay. Added a few extra defensive lasers as it seems a little naked up front and I figure so many re-fits out there would probably cover several configurations, we are only casual gamers so we can live with it
The Neb B aint the most user friendly when it comes to basing! Even though it balances perfectly along that central spar a stand there would interfere with the docked ships and I don't trust one attachment point, it's quite a heavy ship. Sits nice and snug in my solution and quickly lifts out
Just for you DB Draft..
maybe Han discussing terms of Han's capture with the big man himself?
Or Possibly the Emperor and his escort stopping over for an emergency toilet break, he's getting on a bit now!
Anyone who spots the reference to the ultimate cross-over film first gets a free sweety! :OP
Firefly/Serenity vs X-Wing!!!
Oh and just brilliant on the builds mate, made me go out and buy a Kenner Blockade Runner although they have picked up in price remarkably!
