Beautiful job! Done pretty fast also!
Kenner Blockade Runner - re-paint
think I just found my new project, soon as the troop transport and gunship are finished, I think I might go for this as it was one of those thunderbolt moments soon as I saw this picture, its just so cool looking!
Harrower Dreadnought, will take it down to my self imposed gaming scale of 50cm of course, might even add some fun gaming elements to it, maybe a central dock that you can 'load' with a few tie fighters and using a push rod to 'launch' the stack of them as you need, sort of a limited ammo thing
I can only find a few pictures of this fella btw and from the side it looks long n pointy much like the standard Destroyers but I kind of like the more 'chibi' look from this angle so may well go with those proportions
Edited by bulldogukCorrelian courgette?
I think it may have a touch of VD there, might stop by the doctor and have that checked out.
Purchased one of these 3d printed senators shuttles. nice model but I gotta be honest at 30 quid including shipping little pricey for my liking, wouldn't do it again!
Anyhow, printed off some third party manoeuvre cards, etc and we got ourselves a funky little focus for objective based missions
Took a quick copy of the front end so I can 'dock' him into the Neb B too!
Picked up a galoob micro machine rebel transport play set. Nice size, pretty **** close to the future offering from ffg I would say, if you drop on can pick one up from ebay for about £20!
Its nice but a little plain out of the box quick dust over with a little colour and a little tickle with the airbrush and it fits nicely with the rest of the fleet. Will knock up a stand ASAP
Edited by bulldogukIt is all about the fun.
Every time I see that Frigate.....it is just so purty!
Quick base knocked up for the Transport, thought it might be fun to break up the cargo area into sections to allow for more options in scenario play
And a little get together of the Rebel fleet so far, just the wave 3 releases to add once they finally hit the UK shores and I another corvette to convert into a gunship
Obviously relative scale doesn't really bother me too much, just as long as the big ships are bigger things can be evened out in the rules and stats
Seeing as the Imperials only have a Star Destroyer right now think next bit of spare time I have I will start work on either the planned Imperial Dreadnought or Imperial gunship...
Bulldoguk, Dreadnought gets my vote! I'd love to see you tackle that.
The fleet is amazing, very well done.
your bonkers but my fav poster on here
Bulldoguk you have been running silent for a bit anything new?
I love wpuld to make a base like this for my own revell SD but i have no idea what an "acryllic sheet" is. Could you point me in the right direction.

How strong is acryllic? Would be able to cut it with a razor?
How thick of an acrylic are you getting?
But to be a bit more useful, the thickness that you would likely want, (1/8th, 3/16, or 1/4 possibly) would likely need at least a hand saw. I would probably cut the 1/4 on a scroll saw, but that's because I have one available. It likely could be done with a hand saw. I'd probably recommend a mini hack saw ( http://www.homedepot.com/p/Stanley-10-in-Mini-Hacksaw-15-809/100026795 ) type of a saw... Though a regular hack saw might actually work better... but it'd require more auxiliary cuts.
I guess the thickness is the problem isnt it...I dont have a hand saw, I guess I could get one...
How thick are the FFG bases? They cant be more than 1/4 inch can they? I wish I had a ruler handy, but Im at work...
Don't use a hand saw score it several times with a straightedge and the back end of an exacto knife and it will snap along the score line. Then just a light sand and polish on the edges.
Sorry for the lack of posts chaps, had a lot of things going on, too much work, a number of knee ops and at the risk of being stoned to death, yeah, I play a lot more Trek Attack wing now than X-wing!
Saying that, my official runner and transport just arrived, not too impressed with the paint job but hoping the epic play rules will draw me back into x-wing a little more. I'm hoping once things start to settle down a bit I will get round to re-painting all my ships much as I have done with the trek stuff. Feeling the need to scratch-up something else too so I might botch together a customs Corvette for the imperials, maybe some asteroid bases, etc. etc. As always my incredibly low standards will probably outrage the connoisseurs among us but they should add a little eye candy where it's needed
Seems like I am talking myself into stuff I really don't have the time for, I better go...
Btw, TRamsey hit the nail on the head, score n snap with the acrylic, bob it along a straight edge and carefully apply pressure along the score line. I use a hand fret saw for the curves simply because my power fret saw is underneath everything else in the garage!
Haven't really done much with X-wing lately because, lets be honest, Star Trek Attack wing is a much superior game (casts the line....LOL)
Anyhow, even though I still haven't even opened my tantive and troop transport that arrived a few weeks ago I am sort of looking forward to getting back into the swing of things with Xwing
To get myself into the mood I decided to re-paint all the X-wing ships I currently have (falcon, shuttle slave 1 etc still to do)
Well, not so much re-paints I would describe them as simply adding a little colour and picking out the details. Also magnetised all the ships for some fun swooooooping action
Until I saw this picture of the re-painted X-wing sat next to the out of the box miniature (on the right) I really didn't realise just how terrible they were!
2 x-wing squads painted
B, Y and A wings done
Space Debris made from some cheap micromachine ships I had laying around, will grab some tie's to make some empire wreckage too
Tie fighters finished
Tie variants finished
Oh, I also knocked together a quick deathstar board, simple affair, simply the available pdf you can purchase glued onto high density polystyrene, quick, durable and easy to store when not using. The turbo turrets were card model kits purchased from ebay, quite nice!
stay tight n low!
PEW PEW PEW
The force is strong in this one...
You're all clear kid!
