I've already had this question answered in person and I've no reason to doubt the answer I received, but in case it comes up online I'd like to have it answered here as well if you don't mind.

If a person plays multiple epic battle events during the plot phase is there 1 epic phase with all the epic battle challenges or multiple epic phases?

Or, you can always point to the answer in the FAQ (p. 11):

(3.34) Multiple Epic Phases
If multiple epic phases are created in a single
round, they are played in the order in which
they were created, after the dominance phase
and before the standing phase.
