Mirror Match: Can players have the same unique pilots in play?

By brightknight_216, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hiya all,

This is my first time writing here. Just want to ask whether it is legal for players to have the same unique pilots in play when fighting a mirror match? For example, I play Luke Skywalker and my opponent also play Luke Skywalker, is this acceptable? For a friendly game, we can make our own house rules. BUt I wonder whether for each player fielding in the same unique pilots is acceptable under the tournament rules.

I've check the tournament rules published by FFG but make no mention of this. I believe it is acceptable because when we submit our squad built, we will never know what the opponents we will be facing are fielding. Anyway, just want to clarify.

Perfectly legal.

Re-read the tournament rules: it's in there.

Yeah, just an extra vowel somewhere in their name….total canon that way.
