Our family just got out of Moria and are now starting on the Dwarrowdelf adventure packs. We have 4 players, so we each play one sphere. We're at the point where there's just too many cards for us to choose from in making our decks and not have them bloated. I'm hoping that we can get some suggestions for decks to use.
We have two copies of the base game, and one of each of the adventure packs so far and KD.
Here's the guidelines we follow when adding cards to our decks:
1. Since we're following an adventure story, we only use cards up to the current adventure pack that we're on. We're starting Redhorn Gate, so won't be using any cards yet past that adventure pack.
2. We only use cards that thematically make sense in the decks. When in Moria we didn't use Eagles or horses. Now that we're out in the mountains, it makes sense to have Eagles back in, but still not the horses.
3. With so many cards to choose from, we've decided on 60 card decks instead of 50. Usually we try to keep to the minimum required to avoid bloating, but have a hard enough time getting down close to 60 as it is.
We're thinking of sticking with the same heroes we used in Moria, being:
Dwalin, Eowyn, Elanor
Gimli, Legolas, Thalin
Dain Ironfoot, Aragorn, Theodred
Bifur, Beravor, Glorfindel
(at least through Redhorn, once we have access to both of Elrond's sons, we might swap those in)
Any thoughts on how we best can whittle down the mass of cards we have now down to 60 or so per deck in order to face the perils of the mountains?
Thanks!
