How much longer after the physical release do you think the Drive Thru Rpg release will be?

No mention of it as of yet, but the PDF has never come out at the same time as the physical book, when it comes to the core rulebooks.

I'd guess at January/February.

Wait, are you saying that those, like me, who bought the beta are going to have to wait an extra month or two to get the pdf?! At the time I thought getting $20 dollars off the final pdf, while getting a sneak peak sounded like a good deal. Looking back on it now I wouldn't have bought the beta if I had known that I would have to wait longer than everyone else for the game. :(

The PDF never comes out at the same times as the book. What made you think this time would be different?

That's not entirely true. It has occurred before but I attribute it to some kind of clerical error. Heck I had a PDF copy of Tome of Fate before it was released in hardback and legally too from Drivethru, but I'm sure it was a mistake like I said.

I remember that happening - I believe it was then taken down again from the store (but people who had bought it could still download it) until the proper release date, so yea, that was an error on DTRPG.com's part.

My FLGS called yesterday and told me they were holding a copy for me. If I wasn't out of town until Sunday, it would already be mine! GM screen too!

Guy I know at Dakka has a copy already, although to be fair, his local store does seem to possess the ability to move forward and backward in time as he always has everything first.

Got an e-mail from my FLGS today to tell me my copy was in! Practically squee'd the whole walk down! Er… (In an Emperor-approved and Catachan-manly manner, of course….. avergonzado_alegre ) Can't wait to crack it open! Been looking forward to this since the Beta was announced!

I was able to page through a copy at the FFG Event Center today. If I wasn't I broke student I would've purchased it on the spot.

If you live in Toronto, Ontario I know the Hairy T. has both the core rule book and GM screen in store, was able to pick mine up Friday afternoon. I also saw that 401 games just up the street had the core rule book in stock too.

So far with only just a quick glance at the book I like what I see, rules wise looks very similer to Black Crusade. Nice that they had a regiment creation rules right in the core rule book, thought that was a nice touch. Also good number of classes to pick from, lots of choice for different play styles within the guard. Over all so far I am very happy with my purchase and look forward to more in depth reading of the book this weekend. Hope all those who want their copies get them soon.

Really curious as to how the Ogryn ended up; he was abysmal in Beta.

That's a good question Plushy.

How did the Ogryn end up? He just wasn't very… Ogryn-y… in that ruleset.

Well at a quick glance looks like they get a -10 to Agility now along with other stat mods, but they gained 10 more wounds.

Oh dear, that just sounds like the Updated version. I hope he's still not shafted in terms of Aptitudes…

Yeah…Ogryn still suck.

I'm just hoping that they "fix" things and include the bone 'ead enhancement somehow…as well as unnatural strength and toughness advancement opportunities with an advanced specialty or cybernetic item in the Hammer of the Emperor player's guide.

Bummer. I was hoping for exactly what you said; Unnatural Strength and Toughness as special advances!

Oh well, back to homebrewing. My take on the poor guy:

Orgryn

Characteristic Modifiers: +10 Strength, +10 Toughness, -15 Intelligence, -5 Fellowship
Aptitudes: Toughness, Strength, Weapon Skill, Willpower, Offense, Defence
Starting Skills: Athletics (S), Intimidate (S), Survival (Per)
Starting Talents: Bulging Biceps, Die Hard or Iron Jaw, Weapon Training (Solid Projectile, Low-tech)
Starting Traits: Size (Hulking), Unnatural Strength (+2), Unnatural Toughness (+2), But It Dark In Dere!, Illiterate
Starting Gear: Ripper Gun, 1d5 Frag Grenades, Flak Armour (3 AP all)
Wounds: 18+1d5

Special Advances: True Orgryn
Raise Unnatural Strength from (+2) to (+3) 600xp
Raise Unnatural Strength from (+3) to (+4) 1,200xp
Raise Unnatural Toughness from (+2) to (+3) 600xp
Raise Unnatural Toughness from (+3) to (+4) 1,200xp

Does anyone have an idea how to make use of the beta-discount once the pdf is released? Or where to find info about this? Thanks.

I think it should automatically add the discount if you put it in your basket, or they'll send out a discount code when the PDF is released. One or the other.

Thanks Millandson. I guess it'll be a couple of months of waiting.
