:Sogetsu: again....sorry guys!

By Theo7, in UFS Rules Q & A

Ok, i am only asking this agian because everytime i ask this questsion a different answer appears, and seeing as im planning to run sogetsu for upcoming regionals i thought i should finaly get it cleared up.

OK, sogetsu states " E Commit, or remove 1 Tide token from this card: Your opponent reveals their hand and then discards 1 non-attack revealed this way.

My questsion is: can sogetsu's ability discard split cards with attack halves this way?

The reason why i ask is because some people say no, because while it is still in the hand a split card with an attack half counts as both an attack and whatever the other side is at the same time, but other people say because sogetsu doesnt say card in his text he can because the non attack half is still a non attack.

So, i want some stamps here, with maybe the stamps being stamped lol! just so this subject can well and truely be solved!

cheers in advance, and sorry again for bringing it up again!

Split cards count as both while in your hand . So if you have a high tide in your hand you cannot discard because it is technically a attack and action card in your hand . Its the same reason you can't pick up a infiltrating with gorgeous team because it is still a attack card because of the attack side.

This is where some people are arguing u see, u said "it is technically a attack and action card in your hand" sogetsu doesnt say for them to discard a non attack card , it tells them to discard a non attack.

You could be right, i just want some clarification one way or another.

in this case there cant be a difference between non attack card and non attack, its something thats not an attack, while a split attack card is in fact partially an attack

Right it says discard a non attack is a split with an attack side an attack card..... YES it is . Cards are always counted as both until they hit the card pool or staging area so no you cannot discard a split card if it has a attack side .

This is eerily similar to the Chun-Li thing, which I didn't like too much either. Hmmm...

No stamps?
need an official answer from this please, will save alot of judge calling and arguments for future tournies with me, also every friendly game i have i never know which way to go by so i usualy leave that up to my opponent...
Sorry to pester...

you cannot discard cards that have a split half attack. period.

the hand is an out of play zone, and in an out of play zone, split cards cards are both types at all times. the agent's ability is no where near the same issue, as when you are playing a card, you are only playing one side of the card (not the action half, obviously).
