Frozen Sarcophagus

By MarianDz, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Only in Quest 6: Area 8 I was found Frozen Sarcophagus. so, what is effect of this props and what statistics has ordinary frozen sarcophagus?

In Rulebook is written that " Frozen Sarcophagi are found in crypts and tombs. This prop's effects vary by Quests " (page 3). Next on (page 6) is informations about Block Movement and Line of Sight both with No . .... and same sentence " Frozen Sarcophagi have additonal effects that vary by quest ".

Area 8 Description
The frozen sarcophagus here has the same statistics as an ordinary frozen sarcophagus ( what statistics? is that mean only NO movement and LoS) except that the spaces occupied by it are considered to be ice spaces for purposes of movement. OK effect is ice.

My question is: Normal sarcophag (introduced in RtL page 27 ) could be searched. Searching a sarcophagus allows OL play trap (chest) if he wants and Heroes could gain some treasure or Surprise (Skeleton Master). Is this possible on frozen sarcophagus too? Searching, playing trap, what statistics?

Thanx

I don't have ToI but after reading the rules I'd have to say the frozen sarcophagus in that case just operates like a frozen sarcophagus. So basically sits there I think. It makes some wierd thematic sense that you couldn't search it since its frozen, but I could see where this might be something changed later.

It's a non-RtL quest, so I would be astonished if it was supposed to be searchable using a mechanic that has hitherto been RtL-only.

I think they were trying to be funny with that paragraph. I mean, consider the lead-up:

The master skeletons here...have the same statistics as ordinary master skeletons except...

The master shades here...have the same statistics as ordinary master shades except...

The frozen sarcophagus here has the same statistics as an ordinary frozen sarcophagus except...

But anyway, the normal behavior of a frozen sarcophagus seems to be: has no effect on the game whatsoever, except that it probably prevents the spaces it occupies from counting as "empty" if the writers ever establish a sane rule for "empty spaces."
