Agenda7 Netrunner Podcast - Now Online!

By Battlemind, in Android: Netrunner The Card Game

Agenda7 is an Android: Netrunner Podcast for people who enjoy playing the LCG game by Fantasy Flight Games. Brought to you by the Netrunner News Network.

Podcast 01 of Agenda7 covers:
1 – Dave Ross & Company Man Glen Jones introduce themselves and their gaming backgrounds.
2 – Why Netrunner rocks! We like it…
3 – Where to start learning the new Netrunner rules, dammit.
4 – Our top 5/4 cards.
5 – Spoiling what we know about the upcoming GENESIS cycle, and WHAT LIES AHEAD.

Podcast 01 was recorded on October 6th, 2012. Glen’s insight into basic Corporate Netrunner economics is particularly good. Why not open a cold Elsinore and have a listen?

Agenda7′s Netrunner Podcast is available on iTunes. If you have the time, let us know what you think. We hope you like it.

Not finding it in iTunes. I know there is a bit of a lag but it has been 12 hours now so it should show in search results.

As an avid listener of podcasts and newbie to the game (I haven't played the original incarnation), I've been on the look-out for a Netrunner Podcast. I'm looking forward to giving you guys a listen. :)

I had trouble finding it as well. Make sure there's no space between 'agenda' and '7' when you search for it, then it should come up.

Oh, good - there's a real episode now :) I'd begun to wonder if that tiny teaser episode was going to get a followup or not.

I am listening now and at the 14 minute mark you guys wonder if there will be a new Haas Bioroid identity. We already know that all factions are getting new identities in the Genesis data pack cycle and HB is in the first one along with the new Anarch, Whizzard.

26 minute mark talking about trashing ice, the runner can trash ice using Parasite. Believe me it is really annoying as my friend plays Anarch and does it to my ice all the time unless I spend a turn removing virus counters.

Meanwhile, fans of the Anarchs and Haas-Bioroid should find the Data Pack particularly rewarding as each gains two additional cards, including a new identity.

So far I do like how you guys are professional and not swearing or making a lot of stupid inside jokes like some other podcasts for WoW or AGoT. I had been thinking of starting a podcast for Netrunner too and still might be in the near future. Will provide more feedback when I am done listening.

@ Toq - thanks man - those kinds of things are exactly what I need to know! And thanks to everyone else for tuning in - I appreciate it - but ultimately, I hope it's worthwhile for everyone.

PARASITE - ya, I remember that now. Didn't in the middle of the conversation though. A great card for 2 credits.

Glen and I are brand new to podcasts - of course we've been listening for years, but Agenda7 is the first time we've ever recorded, used audio software, blah blah blah… Future episodes will improve as we find our stride.

Thanks again. - Dave

No problem. I listen to quite a few podcasts and have been on before so I know how they can go and have heard great and bad ones. Good first episode for sure.

I'm well impressed. Production value seemed very good, especially if you're first-time podcasters. I've enjoyed your first episode, though I'm looking forward to hearing more nitty-gritty strategy talk and in-depth evaluation of specific cards in the episodes to come. Keep it up, guys!

Your volume seems low, I had to crank my iPhone up to max volume to listen which I don't have to do with other podcasts. You might want to look at increasing it. If you're using Audacity an easy way to do this is select Effects->Normalize and take the default value of -1.0db.

Thanks dboeren - I need to know that. Right now we're recording with Audacity but doing final assembly in Premiere Pro. I will pump it up for 02 - I guess it's better to be too loud than too low.

Volume wasn't too bad, I thought. It falls slightly behind a professional podcast, but I've had worse. I think part of the volume issue is the strong stereo seperation of the two hosts, which works all right listening to the podcast over speakers at home, but listening to it on an iPod with earplugs while surrounded bvy traffic, the fact that you hear a host's voice basically only with one ear somewhat exacerbates the issue of having a little lower volume.

I love that your intro isn't too long, by the way. A lot of amateur podcasts do much too long intros - a one-minute intro might work on TV, but not on radio. Fifteen to twenty seconds is plenty, so good job on that. :)

I had to crank the volume of my iPod to full to hear the podcast so I agree volume can probably use some adjustment.

No problem, and thanks for looking into it. I usually listen either through headphones or by lying my iPhone on the desk next to my laptop. It's the latter method that tends to want a little more volume so that may make for a good test.

We're dealing with the same sort of issues here as we're planning on launching a Call of Cthulhu LCG podcast very soon. :)

Overall, it sounds good so far and your meat-to-fluff ratio is better than most gaming podcasts. Honestly, I don't download a game podcast to hear a couple of guys wisecracking and shooting the breeze. I'm there because I'm interested in the game - to pick up information, tips, strategy, ideas, etc…

Keep it up!

I'm downloading the first two podcasts right now… after reading through the thread I'm kinda excited to check it out.

I'm an on-again / off-again podcast listener but a MASSIVE Netrunner fan.

Looking forward to seeing what a Netrunner Podcast looks like!

Interesting that we have two already. I have been considering for a while now on doing one.

The more, the merrier, I say :D

Sadly my regular opponent has decided he does not podcast and I don't really think a one man show is the way I want to do it. Still interested in doing one if anyone else is as well maybe we can work something out. PM me on here.

Already have it up online. feeds.feedburner.com/Agenda7PodcastFeed

Guys, you said something wrong in your second episode.

Inside job lets you bypass the first piece of ice encountered. This means rezzed ice. Unrezzed ice is only approached. Only rezzed ice is encountered. So Inside Job is even better and even more scarier for the corp.

Another good podcast. Sound quality much better 2nd time around. Keep up the good work guys

You're right! And Glen will be uttering a retraction episode 03. To be fair though - poor guy doesn't play Runner that often. And I rarely play Criminal, so I didn't double check it.

Thanks for listening. - Dave
