Calm Before the Storm - When does the immunity stop?

By darknoj, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

The plot Calm Before the Storm reads "Characters and locations are immune to events this round". Does this mean the effect ends at the start of the next plot phase or will the immunity remain untill a new plot is revealed? and along the same lines if someone use AoS would the immunity last for both rounds or just the first?

You may want to send it in to FFG because there are solid arguments both ways:

1. It says "this round." That gives the effect a duration that ends when the Taxation phase of the current round ends.

2. Since the plot has no specified initiation, other than becoming the current revealed plot, it is continuous. If it is continuous, it really cannot have a duration or end point other than "leaving play."

If 1 is the correct interpretation, the the immunity is gone in for the next "pre-plot" action window, and for the "second round" under AoS. The opposite is true if 2 is the correct interpretation.

If the 1st was true could you cycle the plot to get the immunity even when it was not revealed?

As written, the "this round" part is best interpreted as a play restriction. If it is true, the continuous text applies. If it is not true, the continuous text does not apply. But, of course, the text is always continuous, meaning that the card itself needs to be active.

For example, if the card says "characters and locations are immune to events while you have 6 or fewer power on your House card," interpretation would be easy. The plot would need to be the currently revealed plot and you'd need to have 6 or fewer power. If one, the other, or both aren't true, no immunity. Now replace "6 or fewer power" with "this round" and you have Calm Before the Storm.

Thank you very much. Seems clear to me know.
