Two questions regarding STR and attacks

By Daenarys, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Question 1

Abels Washerwoman wants to attack in order to use her text. Her STR is 0, am i correct in stating that she cannot particpate in the attack unless she has a STR modifier on her or similar ?

Question 2

I have a character in play with 0 STR but all 3 icons. I am playing a melee game and i have the Title redirect card for +3 Power . Does this mean the character can particapate in a power challenge because of the Title +3 ?

That would be incorrect. There is no STR requirement for declaring a character as an attacker or defender. You do not have to raise her STR above 0 before she can participate in a challenge - on either side.

The only STR requirements involved in a challenge are that you have to count a total challenge STR of 1 or more in order to win a challenge (attack or defense), or to oppose a challenge (defense). So no one cares what the Washerwoman's STR is until the challenge is resolved.

The character can participate in the challenge no matter what your title is. As above, there is no STR requirement for challenge participation. The +3 from the title would allow you to win or oppose a challenge in which all of your participating characters had 0 STR, but that's challenge resolution - not challenge participation. Completely different things.

Thanks for clearing that up for me so quickly Ktom, appreciated.
