What was your best match..

By Nemesis15, in UFS General Discussion

Over my UFS career I can say that I have had some pretty amazing matches against some truly awesome players throughout the UK player base..

And I was just curious to hear about your best matches be it either UK or US...

One match was a little while ago my Nagase VS Crazy Elf's Seung Mina, although we have had good matches in the past this one stands out alot. The game was Control VS Control, he managed to completely clear my staging area where as he was setting up quite quickly, buy turn 3 I was 1 card away from being Defender looped, but through some careful playing I managed to fight back and get my set up going enabling me to get my Defender Loop to hit 1st..

During the match we were both very catious of the others deck because of its strength, after the match we had no choice but to shake hands it was only a friendly game but it was such an awesome match between not only 2 friends but 2 powerful decks..

Another was at Team Nats, during our Semi Final clash with Team Fruit Fu*ker I had a truly epic match against Dan Eggle piloting his Promo Talim deck. At this time I was piloting ****Ibuki**** so it was a case of who ever gets the attacks 1st wins.. It wasnt until the 3rd game were things got pretty intense each of were very careful not to overuse cards in our hand, where as the other would probably kill the next turn, it came down to the turn were I had blocked a Rolling Storm with a Ichi No Tachi, then he played another Rolling Storm luckily I had Born to Hunt to recur another Ichi No Tachi but using Born To Hunt left me needing to check a 6 of my deck with Ibuki tapped aswell I was proper nervous. But luckily I checked a Cherster's Backing which brought a big sigh of releif.. As I said before we were being cautious with our hand, assuming that he would have victory, he overused cards in his hand allowing me to kill during the next turn..

A well deserved hand shake was issued and accepted..

Although I have played alot games of UFS against players all over the UK, I still feel that the games commented are the best I have ever had..

It would be nice to hear what your best matches were..

PLZ COMMENT

tough one really i have had good matches agains all my friends really my best match would have to be the matches against viewtifuljoe before soulcal nats bother are games went up and up and we just had such a rally of he wins i win i mod eh mods and it was just awesome.but a particular match has to be against nemisis in the team nats uk

yun seong v ibuki it was so quick and enjoyable not like one where you get frustrated cause you cant do any thing and they cant kill you grrr i hate those games. but it was the fact we were both rush it was great

one of the games that stands out is the very first ufs game i ever won in my first tournement. i was playing against Mt_do and the expresion on his face when i steamrolled his disney vega deck with my starter akuma is truly memorable. he looked like he swalowed a rotten egg and was trying to throw it up. it is an amazing feeling to win for the first time.

Any match against ben shoemaker I have is going to be awesome. By the end of it, either cards have flown, brains have exploded, or feline spikes get BRT'd to reveal feline spikes getting ripped off the top of his deck with the BRT I didn't have.

Also, at SAS, my match against Psyche Scape was freaking epic. He set a trap card and I had no idea what to do.

my best match? i can only say that i was drunk... we where drunk.

Oh really. My favorite gaming moment was when the following week, I put destiny in my deck and when you went to pull off your hack, to my delight, you looked like you were going to cry like a prisoner who was told that his lips were pretty. I shouldn't have to expound beyond that. In short, one trick pony's can only work for so long.

that's all for you trane. merry christmas.

you actualy did start crying when, game 1 i hacked your destinies to death. it is not true that akuma is a one trick pony. check out his first e (i miss absurd strength already).

My favorite match was probally against ian from fort laderdale at the SAS when I was playing Dan and he played promo Yun Seong . He was at full time called on active turn he attacked me with a moon sault slayer and my feline spike killed him on his turn epic game.

No YOU DIDn't. Not once did you hack my destiny. Get the facts staright before you post another post on this forum. It makes you sound like a troll. Good night.

how many times has someone won with f spike on their oponents turn? just one more reason it is awesome.

My best match will probably be my favorite one. I have a lot of really good matches, so instead, this one isn't really about being good, just sheer hilarity.

This is after set 6 came around, and I was looking at the awesomeness that was Absurd Strength. The card was just too 'absurd' for me to think about and I'm like "who aggro's out ridiculously quick for the kill?" Then it hit me. One of my first good decks was a nasty little Iori deck that abused his Fireball. Turns out, my friend had the same exact idea, only with a character that abuses Fireball's R and not it's E, Matt Kohls (pre-errata). Needless to say, we had a lot of really fun quick matches that basically went "whoever won by coinflip won." I think over the course of the 2-3 hours we spent playing, we probably played roughly 50-60 matches of us just going back and forth turn one or turn two killing the other. That was probably the most fun and ridiculousness I have ever had playing this game.

No the funny part of that is to feline spike them on their turn then again on your turn .... But the funny part about that match is if he just ended his turn instead of trying to kill me he would have forced a draw and he probally would have made top 8.

yes i did hack your destiny because that was when you asked norb if statics work from the cardpool.

My first best and most fun match was against a local friend of mine that loved to play earth for damage reduction and the usual things back in type 1, I used Taki : and he was using Gaira (I think 1) and the battle kept going back an' forth from my turn being mass recovery and his turn being mass damage to Taki : but just not enough. That was one of my best matches.

I can't remember anymore better ones than that other than the air event over where I live now and getting a first turn kill with my Raphael :: deck. It more scared me to get it than surprised, or made me happy beyond anything ever. That was definitaly up there for the best matches I've ever had... though I came in third for the event, I still had quick dealings with Raph.

Best match ever? I can't answer that. But I can think of some really great ones...

-First match ever against one of our new players, Mike. I Yoga Adept something of his. He Adepts my Adept. I KFT. And he responds...with another Adept. And it wins him the game xD

-Both of my two matches with Ivey. A whole two games between the two of them xD

-All three of my matches against Finch (aka "Lafayette Robert"). He's so much fun to play against. Man, we need to meet go drinking sometime.

-My match against Antigoth at Worlds. He was playing promo Yun-Seong with Silent Step, and then beasting me with iSpin. I love never having a staging area XD

Just wait till you play against more of the dirty south at the SCC MG gran_risa.gif .

Theres a few that are really up there for me.

Last year at the SCC top 8 against Mr. Clean Yun-Seong, thought I lost to TIME (seriously...), it was seriously one of the most complicated matches I've had.

Last year Worlds final rounds of Swiss Singles, against Foxhound's (forget who played her...) Xianghua, I played everything but one card from my hand right after I had Mentored a Saikyo-Ryu on his side of the field. The next turn (His turn), he went in for the kill with a fully multiple'd Melancholic Mercurious, then before he went for the triple Absurd Strength he Saikyo-Ryu'd my Big Cyclone into play then I Fight or Flighted it for his life total. Too bad Absurd Strength has a block on it...

Last year Worlds top 16 Teams against Omar and his Voldo Mill deck. I was running Fire Akuma beat down and I ended up making it into a control deck against him. Copied his Contemplations with my Lynette's but as soon as it mattered, time was called and Scuba and Scott both lost their matches. llorando.gif

The last one was this last GCC top 8 against ATLionstance's Ivey, playing her Alex deck. Don't really want to talk about it though...

The foxhounder you are talking about would be keith aka loki_5k.

Ya I lost against him as my only loss in singles worlds due too time one more turn and I would gotten a draw at least ....

Keenan man your one of my favorite people to play against. Something rediculous ALWAYS happens.

Best Match for me; Worlds 08 Round 7.

Scott "Scooter Gaines" Gaines and I squared off with the deck we'd built together. We knew an ukyo would make top cuts as we were both 4-2 at this point. One win would push us in. Theres no diversity since winner goes on, looser goes home. Epic match is epic, some lucky breaks for me and I got the win but was a great game against Scoooooter.

i agree with makingsenseofus that any game with shoemaker is fun.

but one night stand out above the rest

i had built a ::ibuki:: deck with 40+ life attacks w/ temporal ascension, and he was playing his no fun turn 2 donny build. we played for about 2 hours of me having a turn to throw out a chain of attacks and suzakus and if hes not dead coming back with some multiple beatdown from all the momentum i gave him

I would have to say my best match was a while ago when cassy was still around. I hard checked my throws into her face with the promo astaroth that could check the top card of his deck when an attack dealt damage, needless to say I won both games.

One of mine that comes to mind was one that I didn't even win. it was in the team event at the SAS against Ceejaybee. he was playing Victor, I was playing Nagase (promo) off all. he mills me in the first match and the second went to time. I did however manage to get get the better end of a response war. I attempt to broken leg his attack, he responds with inhuman perception, I respond with addes, he reponds with addes, I resond with addes( destroying mine), he responds with addes( destroying his as well) and then I play another broken leg. a moral victory for me if you will.

Trane, I asked norb if static text worked while the card remained commited. PLZ note that Akuma's abilities are not static. Destiny on the other hand has static text. You can keep trying to make a fool out of me on the forums but in all honesty, your making yourself look more foolish for not knowing what the hell you are talking about.

Now to be serious, my best match was during the Casual Day of Champions in Hanover, PA. I was versing Chubbs with my Luise Deck. I beat him once but than got my rear handed to me and lost the match. Any game against Chubbs is epic.
