Favourite artwork

By Mejis, in Android: Netrunner The Card Game

The artwork in Android: Netrunner is utterly amazing. I love these cards, especially how the print runs all the way to the edge and there's no generic border.

Just wondering what people's favourite artwork is so far?

I haven't had a proper chance to absorb it all yet, but so far I'm loving Hedge Fund (#110) and The Maker's Eye (#36)

I'm a huge fan of the art for Cyberfeeder (it's the one for my profile). It just screams cyberpunk to me.

Oh boy, there is so much art to love!

I'm in love with the girl on the cover of the box. That has to be my favorite!

Posted Bounty is another sweet one…

And I can't overlook my total bro-mance for Gabriel. I like the way he looks in "Bank Job"… but I hate the artwork on his Identity Card though. I wish they would have had the "Bank Job" artist do Gabriel's Identity card. (or just used Gabriel's pic from his character card in the Infiltration board game)

I'm still tempted to photoshop an alt-art Gabriel Identity card for myself…

Yeah, I gotta say the current identity cards for all runners are currently my least favourite cards. I just don't quite click with the characters as much as the themes on all the other cards for some reason.

The prospect of future artwork from expansion packs is as much a thrilling prospect as the addition of extra gameplay elements.

I'd even be tempted to frame a collection of my favourite cards at some point.

What they need to do is release an artbook. I'd buy it. Twice.

They did it for Game of Thrones, so maybe if we're lucky they'll do it for this after a while.

They also made one for Cthulhu mythos

I must say that I'm not huge fan of artwork in Android Netrunner. It feels bit too bland, colorful and cartoony. Cyberpunk should be more grim and weird for me to like it. There are cyberpunkish cards I like though like almost all ICE, Icebreakers and Snare. Generally I really like all programs (well Sneakdoor Beta is very boring) and ICE so I like all more "abstract" stuff. That stuff make game feel cyberpunk for me. It is the too simple and boring card arts I don't like. This includes cards like Decoy, Aesop Pawnshop, Modded, Sure Gamble and Experimental Data. This game offers huge chance to be creative with art and make all kinds unique stuff, most of the stuff just feels bit bland.

I would also buy this twice.

I would also buy any kind of large art prints that they felt like producing.

It's a shame you feel it's too bland. For me it fits just perfectly, but I can understand if you wanted something more grim and weird. Perhaps some of the future cards will descend into a darker tone, which I certainly wouldn't be against.

In my OP I was also trying to get at how much I love what they've done with the cards in terms of design. The borderless look really does it for me, and there's a lot of information packed neatly into each card.

Even though Anarch is my least favorite runner faction, and I don't think the card is good, Demolition Run has some awesome art.
