Feats in RtL?

By shnar, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

There is no mention in Tomb of Ice about how to use Feats in the Advanced Campaign. I would assume they follow the normal rules (i.e. drawn when activate new glyphs), my only real question is game-startup, do each Hero receive the normal number of feats (typically 3) or do they only get 1 like the skills they normally get?

Anyone played RtL with Feats yet? How well do they work?

I dont want to sound unhelpful but my first advice would be to read through previous forum posts where this sort of thing has been discussed more. Just look back through the last few pages, or use the search option.

What I can tell you is that you should not use them just as they are - they balance the game too much in favour of the heroes.

Keep away form them. Do not use them unless you come up with a good house rule restricting there use and/or making the heroes "pay" in some way.

My group played arround with feats in different ways, but RtL is a very close game, and we were not happy with any of the methods we tried to include them.

Allowing them as is in ToI is a joke of a game for the heroes once into silver. Although the heroes could need a little help in copper, problem is that the overlord has to pound the heroes as much as possible in copper, as it gets tougher for him as the game progresses.

I am under the belief, and granted this is based on one comment by KevinW, that Feats were NEVER intended to be used in RtL.

KW came on and gave a "recommendation" on how to use them, go flip through the Feats threads and you'll find it.
