Life Sucks

By randomblink, in Android: Netrunner The Card Game

I have, so far, purchased TWO of the Core Sets.

Put together a collectors binder with one of each.

Put myself on the order list for TWO of the new expansion at my local gamestore.

But, life has LITERALLY been so busy that I have yet to build a deck nor play a game.

I feel like unfairness is killing me…

lol.

Looking forward to seeing a deck in action! WOOT!

I also have two core sets and a binder with one of each in it and yet to play any real games. So I know how you feel. The only games I have played so far were 3 games against myself running an Anarch and a HB deck against each other. Runner won all 3 times.

I know from experience that especially A:NR is hard to play against yourself. And that the runner has an advantage as he has all the knowledge in such an endeavour is clear.

I think Jinteki stands the worst chance by playing against yourself.

I would think if you going to try Netrunner solo you would also need alternate rules. It would most likely involve the AI always as Corp, one deck for Agenda/Asset/Upgrade and another for Ice and some sort of mechanism for auto playing/advancing/rezzing based on triggers or turns without the need for drawing cards, money, etc. It would be a somewhat different game but I imagine it could be doable…

I just played it for practice and to test out the rules. Runner won because my corp could not get anything going.

Played last night a real game teaching my friend to play. Game came down right to the last turn it was either him or me that was going to win. He had 3 brain damage and 5 agenda points, I had 4 agenda points including a Private Security Force I had just scored end of last turn so all I needed to do was get by but he ran my R&D and got an agenda off the top. We both had a lot of fun and were amazed how close things were especially where it was our first games. He was learning the game as we played.

i was only able to play 1/2 a game.

I have a suggestion, we could organize some games using GOOGLE HANGOUT.

I've played some board games using it and almost like being there.

If you have 2 cameras then you can show your side of the table and also your face.

If any of you are interested let me know we could try it out.

Also a plus, other players can come and watch and even talk .

It is nearly impossible to play a "solo" game trying to play both sides. Half of the challenge is the mind game between the players; you may have the better deck, but if they can bluff you better, they win.

I've found that it's a whole different level of play when you play it right.

It's not to say I'm unsympathetic to the OP, in fact, I can relate entirely; my AGoT: LCG is just sitting cause I've found no one regular to play with. I've bought 1 core set and I have all the deluxe house expansions, but no real opponents.

Have you tried the OCTGN program? It's not playing against a physical opponent in front of you, but at least you'll be able to get some human opponents.

If you think that is bad, I am still waiting to buy my first copy of Android Netrunner, despite pre-ordering it.

I missed the chance to buy the Game Night kit (with the playmat) when it was on the store for anyone to purchase, and I havent seen the new expansions yet either.

I still dont know when my copy of the game will come in for me to get it.

Now that sucks. :(

What sucks worse is the people that will find the game years from now and will have to get the core and all it's expansions while we have been keeping up on it.

No one was able to buy it who did not have a B2B (business to business) account. It was a mistake that it was up and no one who did not have the correct account got it. There are no expansions yet. First data pack comes in December.

It can be done quite easily. I got in to A Game of Thrones after several expansions and deluxe expansions were already out and caught up on all of them. Plus I was buying two of all of the new packs as this was back when packs were 40 not 60 cards like they are now.

It would be a hell of a lot easier to invest the money if I had people to play with :/ Unfortunately (fortunately?) I've got a small pool of people playing Netrunner now so I'm kind of on that high.

Well that makes me feel a bit better, thanks. :)

Np, they are sold now too. Knew I should have ordered more than one especially since it will be longer till they change over now.
