I just posted this on another post, but oh well.
IMO, restricting and banning cards is more from the "it's not doing what we designed it to do" perspective. The Furies? Everyone is including them? Wasn't our intent, restrict 'em. TftE? One card starting hands? Wasn't our intent. Restrict it. TMP? Strongest agenda in the game? Being over-represented? Restrict it. I haven't liked the direction they've gone in the past with the FAQs, but I really have to applaud their latest management of the game. They are taking a serious look at the competitive environment. They're managing the game to what they want it to be and what they designed it to be. You can grade the FAQ incomplete based on the lack of fixes with regards to rules holes and trait mispelling, but this is exactly the kind of FAQ I'd expect before a tournament.
Does it clarify the card pool? Yes.
Does it give some due clarifications? Yes.
Does it destroy any current NON-GIMMICK builds? I'd say no, but need some help on that one.
Does it make the scoring system more intuitive? Yes.
Does it help people going to the tournament prepare for the tournament? Yes.
Is it timely? I don't really know. I'm not going to the tourney.
What key things would be missing from this FAQ for someone getting ready for Worlds? And keep in mind, I don't think drastically altering the environment a month out would be a positive pre-tournament FAQ. But obviously opinions can differ on that.
