The yellow Event Brother Against Brother says to test Magic Diplomacy 12 for each Ally.

ls the test done from the Characters Magic for each of thier Allies or do you roll for each Ally on thier Magic.

It is written "When this card is played, each Hero must immediately test Diplomacy (12) for each of his Allies". It's clear enough who has to test Diplomacy (the Hero) and how many times (for each of his Allies). Allies cannot make Skill test because they don't have Skills (see manual page 9).

This is quite funny while there are some examples, like the Lady Cathori Challenge Card, which are in clear contrast with this rule! It should read that your Allies need to test Spirit, like they have to do before fighting Assif Shib-Sa Challenge from Island of Dread. Lady Cathori is not mentioned in the Errata.

By the way, I HATE "Brother against Brother". This card always pops out when I've collected enough money to hire a valuable Ally and prevents me to get it for some turns. The Event is usually replaced before I can make a successful Diplomacy test (it happens always when I have a fighter Character like Mordrog.

l just checked the FAQ & Errata v2.2 on page 3 under Specific cards there is a Q & A regarding the Lady Cathori Encounter stating the Allies have to use thier Spirit values as you stated.

l hate the Brother against Brother Event as well, l had just purchased an Ally worth 10G the previous turn even though l did not pay that & lost them with this Event card.

Ah, I checked the FAQ at first time and couldn't spot that one. It is an error and they should have put it in the Errata paragraph, instead of FAQs. I'm sure everybody could solve the card anyway, because if you don't have the specific ability bonus you have to use Spirit value.
