Ammo tracking?

By WillisRBC, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire Beta

Hi all. How is ammo tracked in this game? I'm having trouble finding it. In previous editions bowcasters have been very expensive to fire, much to the digress of my local wookiee lover. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Short answer: It's not.

Ammo is handled narrativley, just like the rest of the game. It's a situation that can come up because of certain dice outcomes, but you aren't required to track 50 shots on your blaster pistol before you change power packs.

Certain weapons do have the "limited ammo" quality which breaks that general rule, but these are generally one shot weapons like grenades, missiles, and high end ordnance.

Well, your Wookiee-loving player can rejoice, as ammo tracking is generally not a thing in EotE.

Other than limited ammo weapons such as grenades and bolas, the PCs are generally accepted to have plenty of ammo. About the only time a PC would need to reload is if they roll a Despair on a Challenge Die, but that can be fixed with either an Extra Reload or the Spare Clip talent under Gadgeteer specialization.
