I am looking at the cat burglar card, and it seems that she can only use her first ability when there are 2 or more cards on the space.

But you can't use it when you must draw the cards..:(

It may be as you say, but I believe you shouldn't read the ability that way. It doesn't mention the keyword faceup, it says when you encounter a space with 2 or more cards.

I think you are right.

The Cat burglar is better if she can use her ability this way.

I just got the wrong idea about it.

Will Australia get it at the same time or will exports to Australian distributors be delayed?

Corrupt Sheriff is another fine card (like Gong of War in Highland) to take someone from CoC space. This time you can even throw him to Jail. Sheriff has to know some nasty tricks…

It is, but you'll have to be very lucky to draw it when someone's on the CoC.

There are less City cards than Highlands and if you are almost out of life every option can be helpful to avoid Command Spell.

Indeed, and if that character has no gold, and he rolls very bad, then he can die there too :D

Hmm, the inquisitor would be a good character for the city expansion..

Really liking how this expansion is shaping up.

Yes! I see that we get the bows back!

´The prices are very good. The great axe is only 4 gold.

I like luna the owl. :D

My excitement is paramount. But seriously it is hard to believe that after the so very excellent Blood Moon, the looking very excellent City is almost here!

We also get a permanent space where wizards can sell all their spells if they are stuck with it. Very handy.

The druid or the warlock can easily sell 3 spells to get 3 gold and buy almost a great axe with it. then they have a strength of 5 early in the game, and then they are more powerful than ever! asustado

Because a warlock gain all his spells at the start of his turn, he can gain lot's of gold here, and buy everything lol

No kidding. That one looks like a game-changer to me. (Not a game-breaker, mind you, but I can definitely see Luna become a popular follower once this expansion is out.)

Yes, its TRUE. The City will do a lot to change dynamics and introduce any number of strategic options. Players who do not start with an abundance of Spells, or gold, could head to the Highlands, head out with all those trinkets and such, then hit the City. After total re-outfitting, head to the Dungeon for serious level upping! Yes.

I am a bit concerned that some of the items you can purchase are a bit overpowered, and that really good items are now so much easier to obtain. Kind of takes away from the luck factor and excitement of finding them while adventuring. I also don't want Talisman to change from a grand adventure game to a search for gold so you can buy more stuff game.

I think the Sorcerer is great, in that you can finally get rid of unwanted spells. But I might house rule it that you can only trade unwanted spells for new ones, instead of gold. I worry that characters who gain new spells every turn have easy access to an unlimited supply of gold. Also, I might limit each character to one pet only.

I'm certainly looking forward to the expansion, but a I'm a bit nervous about how this will change the overall game.

I have some small worries about that; gold seekers overpowering the game. More likely to happen in 2 or small number player games, I think.

But a consistency factor is noted too. There are some weapons gained in various decks that have equivalent strength, but seem to have uniqueness. As in divine or extra powered. Wouldn't a Hammer of a God totally blow away something you could buy?

We could have already guess, that this would happen.

The mainboard does not have many gold bags anymore because of the last two small expansions.

The Highland is the way to find lot's of gold. So most people will go there now, instead of staying on the mainboard.

But it can be still dangerous there, especially if you play with the dragon expansion etc.

And with the draw 2 and 3 spaces + all the trinket objects and gems that you can find there, you can increase your chances to make your character better, if you combine it with the City expansion.

So the mainboard will become a little less interesting, but it's still a board that connects all the other boards, so you must still go through it :)

And besides, the City needs some good objects. We can finally buy a lot of stuff! :D

That's right.

If you have fate, just focus on the crags, forest or the enchantress to gain automatically a strength or craft point.

If i have luna with me, then i go to the waterfall in the highland or to a other place to replenish my fate:D

Luna is one of the first things that i will buy. But i also want the great axe :)

My only gripe with the later expansions(just recently got Highlands, so Luna reminded me of this) is how they recycle some of the artwork in the cards. It can be confusing if you have two followers with the same artwork, but different properties and names.

That´s True. It would be better if FFG use new artwork. But new artwork means more money..

So to avoid this, they use old artwork with some new text added to it…

Wow, I really like the characters they posted so far. Usually I become quite whiney about OP-chars but these just seam like lots of fun!

I don't know if everybody realized that buying a Great Axe is a matter of money, while buying Followers is a matter of money and luck. You don't buy pets, you pay Gold to draw a Pet card. This means you might need a lot of Gold to cycle the deck and find Luna the Owl. It would be nice if the deck was balanced mixing powerful and less powerful Followers, but they all look game-breaking so far (Glitter, Luna, Singe, Wart, Whiskers and Fang from a sneak peek).

The City answers brilliantly to one of the few unanswered issues in Talisman: how to spend Gold.

I don't know what they will be adding with the next board expansion, though.

Finally! I think it's gonna be the best expansion so far.

I'm really curious what's next.

what will they do for future expansions? I think the only concept they haven't totally exploited would be Gods, Goddesses and other forms of divine/semi-divine beings? Make a great small expansion? Probably have 2 or 3 different groupings, or 'Pantheons' of beings. Norse, Greek and Egyptian? You have the option of becoming dedicated to a God, or having them as your Patron deity. This can give benefits, but the Pantheon that is not yours may be the problem? (in some ways it might be like the homebrew "The Lady" ?)

You are right. I completely forgot that you must draw the pet card….

I think we should be happy about that.

But if i have enough money, then it don´t hurt to go to the pet shop to increase your chances.

I think that wart is the weakest follower from that group.. :)

So there is balance! That is great. I love this game.
