Dark Heresy Online Chat Game / Forum.....Could this work ??

By constantine.loire, in Dark Heresy

Had an idea in my head for some time regarding starting an online version set in the main hive of Necromunda..Heres what i've been thinking..

Characters are created and then basically the storylines and plots that come from them are generated via either the forum posts or the chatrooms ( set up into different regions, locations etc etc ) It would be very much a game of interaction with your other Players and responding to their actions and words..

Now..we all know that some out there feel the need for a little healthy violence so every now and then certain roleplay scenes ( or threads if the times were not to peoples liking ) would be run enabling people to unsling their lasgun and bring fiery death to the Emperors enemies...

The same would go for political and social Scenes..making it so those who arent too gun happy to be able to immerse themselves more in the setting and develop their Characters reputation..

so for the moment i'd like your feedback, could this work ? and if you like the sound of it and want to help me get it together please send me a note. I would be looking for a few GM's to help me work this out and help run scenes and situtations..So if you've always liked combat / politics / etc etc..please get in touch..

Thanks

Con

I guess my first question are we talking free form RP or moderated? GMs are all well and good, but if they can't participate in the combat well they may get bored, but if they can then we're talking favoritism. Freeform consists of different rule sets to determine conflict. Moderated can follow actual Dark Heresy rule sets and you need dice rollers and ways to make sure people don't swing the character creations. Freeform is very easy to create gonzo characters, especially when people don't understand how to do freeform combat.

Now, my suggestion is start small and work bigger and expand as needed.
