Suggestions or guidelines for creating quests?

By Rophan, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I just ordered Descent 2e, and the Conversion Kit (I was fortunate enough to find the 1e base game and two of the expansions at a garage sale a couple of years ago , but haven't really made much use of them). I'm assuming that there are no published quests that go with the conversion kid and I will have to come up with my own. I was wondering if there are any guidelines or suggestions (either official or unofficial) on how to create a balanced quest or if it is just a case of hit and miss experimentation?

Thanks

Bruce

2e allows the overlord to add open monster groups to the quests. The conversion kit you bought allows your 1e monsters to be used as some of these open groups. You'll be able to start using your 1e monsters right away in the 2e quests, no need to make your own… unless you're looking for quests that include 1e monsters as part of the plot line (mission to stop a horde of beast men, etc)

OK, thanks - I guess the online rules only tell you so much. Looking forward to digging into the game.
