The PODs. Simply because none of my players could use them and I'm not playing anything right now that could use them. But I plan on grabbing them all sometime soon…even Dreadfleet…
None, I'm a completionist. Buy everything. I also have 2 game stores on the way I walk home so things are always there "calling to me"….
I didn't get:
- Players vault (redundant)
- GMs vault (redundant)
- Bright mage pod
- Dreadfleet pod
- Shallya pod
I regret getting:
- GMs toolkit (waste of space)
- Creature vault (never use, even in favor of the defective 'guide' product)
- GMs guide (99% unused redundancy)
I feel best about:
- Players guide
jh
I purchased but later returned ALL of the hardcovers, opting instead for a pdf of the Player's Guide to hand out to my players. The GM's Guide & Creature Guide are truly redundant for those that already own the core, plus initial expansions.
I have yet to, and will not purchase:
the Player's Vault (extra careers are already in the Player's Guide pdf)
Black Fire Pass (none of my players are dwarfs and I've homebrewed my own dwarf fluff/mechanics)
I have yet to, but still may purchase:
Signs of Faith (I've seriously scaled back magic in my game, making it feel uber rare and very dangerous…bc of this, none of my players are playing priests of any kind, so this would just take up space)
PODs (again, none of my players are playing any of the careers released so far, and there in the middle of the Empire, so no access to ocean going vessels as of yet)
I def will be purchasing:
Hero's Call
The Enemy Within
I like the idea of making magic more rare (and dangerous), hence I put the 2nd edition "Wrath of the Gods" in for priest magic. In my campaign, the uncaring gods don't actually grant spells. Magic is magic. Priest just channel it differently and in a more ritualistic way, and that's why they have a lower chance to get a big magical catstrophe.
I do think that Signs of Faith is a great product though. I get use beyond just the priests.

Bit surprised by this I must say. I think the Creature vault is one of the best products for 3e. I use the cards all the time, save me hours upon hours of prep time. I don't even own the guide (but have access to a copy when I need to check the trait descriptions).

Here here! I've actually split my various monster and npc cards into several decks that I can draw from for random encounter type scenarios.
i.e. the pcs are walking through a marketplace looking for a particular vendor, I draw from my prepared deck of npcs to see what kinda bloke they run into, Specialist, Merchant, Noble, etc.
The cards are great for creating encounters on the fly in addition to prepping encounters before a session.
I own
Core Set
Creature Vault
Creatue Guide
Player Guide
GM Guide
GM Vault
Adventure Toolkit
Edge of Night
Gathering Storm
Lure of Power
Planned Purchases Include
Everything but POD's
I think of all the things I like the Lure of Power and Edge of Night books the most, I seem to reference them constantly in my campaign and campaign planning. Besides the two adventures I just find the resource material in their very re-usable. I think the creatuire guide is a bit weak as a book, but the creature vault extemely helpful. In fact I think the creatuire guide without the creature vault borders on completetly unusuable as everything in that book is incomplete without the cards which is one beef I have with it. I like the modular concept of building creatures, but it think this game really needs a "book of creatures" that are done and laid out so that I can grab a book, pick a creature and have a fight without a bunch of preperation nescessary. When dynamic unexpected battles come up it really slows the game down not to have that.
I think my biggest complain is that the Core Set books have so much repeated information (direct reprints) of the other books, which I guess I kind of knew going into it but I felt that FFG really should have made a lighter "core set", more like a basic or have some sort of "components" set. I felt obligated to buy the core set to get the nescessary components but the books I rarely open since its all covered in the other guides and in a more comprehensible way.
All and all though Im pretty happy with my purchases. It is by far the most expensive RPG I own but it has made my top 5 list very nearly knocking down my long time perosonal favorite Alternity.

I hear ya'.
Since I first picked up the game I've purchased all expansions as soon as I could get my hands on them here in Sweden. I "need" to have everything, even if at present no priests/wizards are part of my group, so the PODs have been rather useless.
