We played Runebound yesterday, and I'm not sure if I get this card right. This character deals only one damage in each category and can't use any Weapon or Armor items that cost 4 or more gold. Sure, his starting values are a little bit higher, but I think this is the worst character in the whole system.

Or do I miss something??? Any comment is appreciated!

Sounds like you've got it correct. While that might seem like a massive limitation, there are many items that will let him be competitive that aren't weapons and his boosted stats are, as you say, the reason for that limitation.

I don't think he's that bad, really. With some application of exhaustion, he basically has 7 is every stat. That's nothing to sneeze at. And he's set up to be very versatile. Sure, he can't use many weapons or armor, but there's plenty of good artifacts and runes he can use use just fine.

I'd say Jaena, Elaria, and Harthan are pretty much the worst in the game. However, changing a couple of numbers changed all that...

Now, all of these characters are from the Midnight expansion, and since it's quite a bit different than standard Runebound, there was probably a different thought process put into their creation, but I mostly just mix them in with all the other characters for regular or other expansion games.

Probably I'll take the advice and change a number or two on those Midnight characters.
