Newbie question

By shinnosuke, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Hi,

Yesterday I played my first game. I have a question that I couldn't find an answer for. If you are entitled to take power counters from an opponent, and he has none, I guess you just don't take them. Same if you have to take two and he only has one (you take the one), or if he has to discard and has no cards. I guess the same happen any time the rules or text say "you must…" and you can't. Am I right?

Thanks!

Shinno

If it is impossible to do something, you don't do it. You can't discard cards you don't have, kill characters you don't have, or move power you don't have. So you just don't do it.

And, of course, you don't build up a "deficit," either. So, for example, if you have no cards in hand and you lose an intrigue challenge, you don't have to discard the next card you draw (or find some other way to make up for not being able to lose a card).

Thanks!
