Sweet hotel discount! Oh wait, everyone coming already booked.

By dcdennis, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Just phone and get the hotel and get the rate. I got less then that by a dollar at the Days Inn anyway. ;)

The rate I got by getting my room and plane ticket together on Expedia was a buck or two less than that, too.

raddisson was $378 for the 3 nights thursday - sunday and will not change the rate because i used hotels.com

O now that sucks…8(

They have been so late with everything…the schdule (which is not really complete as it has no breaks etc..), the hotel deals, prize details (still dont know what winner get) and we still dont know which cards will be legal for worlds…so sad…

I think I was a little out of line in my OP as a hotel deal was never promised nor expected from FFG, and I was going to come either way. Just seems like an odd time to present the discount, as those coming from a distance, and thus requiring a hotel, would have booked far earlier I advance than 5 weeks to avoid higher last minute prices, and would have had no reason to hold off on booking to wait for an announcement like this since it was never teased. So who does this deal reward? Those who were never going to come in the first place but decide at the last minute to come based on this 20% ish discount? An odd target audience to pander too.

but as I said I was a bit harsh and speaking out of frustration in teh OP. it's the thought that counts FFG, but this offer feels like a Christmas card in January….sent to a Bhuddist :)

Why are most of your threads provocative or stupid. You really are very annoying dcdennis.

Also a thanks or reply after you ask a question would be nice, people spend time to reply to your silly threads. I dont know why they do.

To quote James Brown " Talkin loud, but sayin nothin "

I'm sorry if this post sounds rude, but I feel someone needs to pull you up on your general tw$tishness.

qft :)

edit: oops, where's my manners, forgot to thank you for taking time to reply to my 'stupid threads', if only to call me 'an annoying ****'. generally that is the best way to 'pull someone up'.

I don't know Dennis, but there certainly not lurking in the Rules Thread, that's for sure.

funny thing is i actually agree with everything you said. generally the point of my posts is be be annoying (though trying to make a point simultaneously). the end result is people who know me get a chuckle cuz they know the tone in which it was meant, and those who don't know me get irritated and find the posts obnoxious. and both parties are correct :)

long days and pleasant nights to you ser. if our paths should cross at world's i hope to sway your opinions :)

Why can it not be changed or cancelled without penalty? We aren't close to being prior to the property's cancellation deadline.

The question remains then, Dennis, why purposefully be annoying?

That's like asking Cersi why she's crazy.

i was going to say something like this hehe. some like to wonder about the origins of the sun the moon and the stars, where did they come from, why are we here, but its probably better to just forget about it and enjoy the ride :P

edit: quite frankly im surprised it took well over a year for someone to call me out haha, that usually happens within the first 3 months after i infect a community =D

Quite frankly, I'm surprised as well. I was shocked with Dennis's online persona after having known him in person first. lol.

It's too bad everyone on the boards doesn't have the same opportunity for that first impression. I hope Dennis doesn't come back from Worlds with broken legs. happy.gif

Probably because, IRL, people CAN actually reach out and break his legs.

Nice. Although, he's bigger than me. I'm not sure I'm a threat.

I can say at least that if he were like that irl he wouldn't have had a ride to NY. lol

Now that I think of it, maybe that's why there weren't many takers for his AGoT-mobile manabago to Worlds. lengua.gif

Dennis has been my close friend for 16+ years. That being said, there isn't a day that goes by where he doesn't try to annoy me and thus gets me to want to smash his face with the nearest blunt object. He is the type of person who tries to find different ways to annoy you and then does it until you are ready to slug him. If you open the door to be annoyed, he will easily exploit it. That is one of his many talents.

Another of these talents is hospitality, generosity, and making fun of mentally disabled people that wear diapers.

That being said, he's a fantastic sport when you call him out on it and he expects you to give it back to him.

Sometimes he's certainly a bigger ******* than one owned by a porn star that is consistently invaded by a Louisville Slugger or a giant beer bottle, but he's a great guy nonetheless.
