Joffrey Baratheon

By Kalahari2, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Hello guys, i have a doubt:

Joffrey Baratheon KOTS (f34) card, If Joffrey is the only king, in play joffrey gets +1 str for each gold token on him.

Response: after an opponent pays gold to marshall a character put that gold on Joffrey Baratheon. (limit once per round)

Is that means that all the rounds joffrey will keep the gold, of characters marshalled in other rounds, and continue taking gold for new marshalled characters, until somebody kill, him, or a new king arises? Or at the end of the round he discards all the gold tokens on him?

If he doesnt discard the gold token, this guy is to strong if you dont have kings, and i dont have enough gold tokens to afford this guy, because if every round he claim an average of 4 gold tokens i will run out of gold for continue playing :S

I forgot, another card that i have troubble,

Poisoned wine from the core T 101 set:

It saids, attached character gets - 2 str. Any phase kneel 1 influence to move poisoned wine to another eligible character.

So i can understand this, in two ways:

1) Only the targaryen player that had played the attachment can move this wine kneelig influence, or

2) Any player could move the wine kneeling influence.

Which is the correct form?

You missed something. I bolded it above.

But yes, gold tokens remain on Joffrey until Joffrey is killed or discarded. If another King enters play, Joffrey keeps his gold tokens; they just don't do anything until the other king is gone.

Triggered abilities can only be triggered by the controller of the card, unless explicitly stated otherwise (eg "Any player may trigger this effect"). In this case, the Targaryen player is the controller of the card, and the only one who can move the wine using its ability.

Thx istaril and radiskull,

So i go back with joffrey, for example a lannister vs stark, joffey is on play, and is the turn of stark to marshall, stark marshall a 2 gold cost character and then a 5 gold cost character, lannister could choose with gold of marshall he will use, or he must use the first character payed with gold?

Other question, when you lower the cost of a character with a building o a card, does this gold lowered also goes to joffrey, or only the real gold payed go to him?

Joffrey can choose, BUT he must choose immediately after the opponent plays a character or his response window will be shut. So in this example, if you waited until your stark opponent played a cost 5 character then Joffrey could claim the 5 gold for himself, but if your opponent played the cost 2 character and you opted not to use his response (hoping for a better character to be played) and then your opponent decided not to play any other characters Joffrey gets 0 gold.
