What is the trigger to play a reversal?

By NintendoMan, in UFS Rules Q & A

What is the trigger to play a reversal?

Is it a response to playing a block? or is it a response to the opponents attack resolving completely?

I guess it sorta brings me to my next question....

the "you may play one reversal" rule, is that because you block one attack and then resolve the reversal? Does that rule apply if you dont block (via Blind Loyalty/ Annu Matsube)?

Playing a reversal is a response to blocking yes which happens is you reveal it from your hand in an attempt to play it . Your opponent then as a response window to negate the reversal response if they want too . After that you play as normal I dont think you can play 2 reversals with AM though. I think it works like Yoshitoria where you just dont have to block to reversal .

the trigger for it is after dmg from the blocked attack is determined, since you cant half block a still fatal attack and reversal for the win

so therefor you can only respond once with a reversal to the damage being taken?

Yes you have to let the attack resolve so damage calculation happens before reversal can happen . So if you want to play an action card in response to taking damage like back flip or something that comes before a reversal can be played .

.............

stamp for.. scuba? wow.

The response is to your opponent's attack, which has been blocked, resolving, which is after all effects through the damage step are finished.

Your reversal is a response to their attack resolving, and also the one reversal rule sticks unless you have a card that says otherwise.
