Just want to get a decent list of BL novels that involve Rogue Traders to a good enough degree to provide inspiration.

Rogue Star, Star of Damocles, For the Emperor, Cain's Last Stand, Xenos....

Anyone else?

Eye of Terror is another one. "Good enough" is a debateable topic, but it certainly has a "rogue trader" in it.

Rest of the Eisenhorn and also Ravenor serie also feature Rouge Traders. Also don´t forget the Legacy by Matt Farrer, altough it seems to be Adeptus Arbites novel, it has great amount of information, customs, story and "feeling" of Rouge Trader, definitely worth reading.

I just read the excerpt from Legacy on the BL site, and I have to say it seems promising. I haven't heard people mentioning this series before...the whole thing is solid? How about the author's book set on Necromunda?

I can´t speak for Herr Farrers Necromunda novel (Junktion IIRC), but for the Shira Calpurnia serie (Crossfire, Legacy, Blind) only one could be said- it´s awesome. I dare to write it´s one of the best (if not the best) series published by Black Library. They all have both inteligent and "40kish" plot, thrilling and "grimdark" atmosphere, well pictured characters and they also show mentality of the Imperium very well (gah, Cain and Ghosts are overclassed there by many degrees).

Even if you didn´t like the stories you would certianly love this serie as perfect sourcebooks for "civil" life in Imperium. In Crossfire, you´ll find nice info about Adeptus Arbites, Imperial Nobility, scratch of Imperial Navy traditions and also glimpse to Ecclesiarchy inner workings (and also small bit of sheer Mechanicus awesomness (ritual of vaccination)). Legacy, as mentioned above, features lot of Rouge Traders theme, Adeptus Arbites judiciary process, breathtaking Adeptus Mechanicus (and one really nasty techno-heresy!) and several spicies of Ecclesiarchy and Navigator machinations. Third part, the Blind (in my opinion the best Shira Calpurnia novel) is heavily centered on Adeptus Astra Telepathica and Adeptus Arbites. It also has the strongest and most thrilling story, and main character of arbitrix senioris Shira Calpurnia has the most space here (and yes, she´s awesome...)

My two cents:)

I finished reading through the trilogy a fortnight ago and I agree with Ripper; really well written, very entertaining and, above all, one hell of a view of the Imperial mindset.

As for Junktion, I've just begun reading it. Only 25 pages in, so I can't say much on it yet. Most certainly not Rogue Trader related, though. Unless something really unexpected occurs.

Just be warned. Farrer presents a very religion-focused approach to the Imperium, which is probably going to be up the alley of most Dark Heresy players, but isn't necessarily everyones cup of tea.

Legacy is definitely worth picking up for the socio-political aspect of Rogue Traders, esp. when dealing with (or ignoring) the other branches of Adeptus Terra.

Talking about RT books from BL. Anyone knows if BL will release an onmibus (alike they do lately for the other sold-out-for-years titles) for Blind/Legacy/Crossfire?

Farseer, By William King (the dude who wrote the Gotrex and Space Wolf novels) one of the main characters is a RT.

Finishing up Kill Team right now, in my spare time. Anyone else think that LT Kage is just too much Chronicles of Riddick, as far as a character goes. I just keep on seeing Vin Diesel.

I finished reading Junktion a few days ago and, after reading the Culpernia trilogy, was surprised that the Emperor was not mentioned once. The religion of House Cawdor was never explained, and the closest they got to referencing genuine Imperial faith was the main character imitating a spread hand sign one of the Cawdors makes (the sign of the aquila, most likely). It was a great read, and my respect for the author has increased.
