Where is Hammercon? I live in Brampton.
Sweet deal, I look forward to seeing you at Hammercon then! I just gave my copy a go at my local hobby store and it was a blast!
Strombole: Hammercon is in Hamilton. Check out the convention's website for more details:
Even if the event doesn't get fully approved, I would be up for a game at the convention anyhow!
Don, we're coming to Hammercon if you get X-Wing added. We've been Playtesting on the Death Star trench that I brought back from GenCon.

Wednesday Oct 3, Black Knight Games Hamilton ON
Not a tournament, just a casual play meet up from 6 pm to 9pm. The goal is to get as many games in as we can.
Minis not necessary as there will be plenty of extras for anyone who wants to check out the game.
Hey Don, Chris and Luke (Cook), we will attend with Gerry if you have an X-wing tourney. What day are you looking at. We would also make the drive to Hamilton at some point this winter to play after football is over. Wish we could make it on the 3rd. Keep us posted!
Anyone in the Buffalo area want to play?
Chris
Awesome Chris. Just waiting to hear back from Hammercon. They seem pumped about X-Wing. No worries about not being able to make it next Wednesday. Hopefully we will have many more frequent X-Wing events, preferably on a weekend. We'd love to have you.
I think I'm coming to Hammercon just so I can play the "Battle of Hoth" Star Wars minis game if for no other reason…. While I'm there (and after I take down an AT-AT) it would be cool to do a little dogfighting and keep my Star Wars geek on. Which day or days will you be doing X wing?
Hoth Battle definitely happening Saturday morning. X-Wing pending approval for Sunday afternoon.
I will definitely be in for the Sunday play session, but will also be attending Saturday and will most likely be carrying my X-wing products around with me. If anyone is down for a pick-up game on Saturday, I am always up for the challenge.
Not likely I'll be able to make it for October 3, but I've got the November date as a tentative "yes" if you manage to get a tournament going. Definitely keep us all posted on that one.

Note the above event is Sunday November 4. The board software prevents editing.
Here's a question for the community thinking of attending. Would you be more likely to attend if there were prize support and would you be willing to pay more to enter the tournament on top of the admission to the con, to pay for the prize support. As of now we have no sponsors and any prize support would be out of pocket.

Absolutely, I would be all in for sure if there was some sort of prize, even if it meant a reasonable/nominal extra charge to get in on the tournament. Otherwise I'm 50/50 on going, because of the travel time involved.
Being as this is not a Collectible Miniature Game, I can't see an expansion pack being that big of a draw for players. Everyone attending will most likely have all they need and I don't see the appeal of opening an expansion pack and having all the players pick away at it piece by piece. The only appeal I could see in winning an expansion pack would be to flip it, and I'm not really into that. Rather would play for a cash pot in that instance, but hey this isn't Dreamblade.
What type of prize support would you really be expecting?
Hey Don, count me and Luke innnn. I dont feel we need any major prize at the end.. just looking for some fun. But would be willing to pay an extra $5.. no more than that.. Cant wait…. Also we would come sooner to get some practice games in if anyone is interested.
Do we have to pre reg to get in the convention or can we pay at the door?
Either will work. Glad to hear you can't wait, cause I can't either.
Also of note, at Hammercon on Saturday afternoon/evening, another organizer is having two two hour sessions with six players controlling one ship each. I'm pretty sure he will providing the miniatures and building the fighters.

Bumping this out of the back pages for anyone that may have missed this upcoming event. It looks like it is going to be a popular event.
Hey Don, what are you going to do about the major rule differences such as double barrel roll or Garvans spending a focus on 0 roll. Will the offical answers be out by the tourney. Also how many round are you planning and how many players make the playoffs. I would love to get there an hr or 2 before to play you or anyone else. Up until now I have only gone vs my sons, and would love to see how others play the game.
Chris
Great questions Chris.
Unless something official surfaces before the tournament the rule will be No double barrel roll, Expert Handling is same as Barrel Roll, Garvin can't spend his Focus unless he can spend his Focus.
As much as I'd hate to discourage anyone from playing a Garvin build, because I think we are going to see a whole lot of TIEs.
I would hope you guys would be able to get there early enough to participate in the SWM Tournament at 9:00 am-1:00 pm. Gerry is bringing some sweet swag for that! So I'll be busy with that. I'm sure if you guys show up early, you will be able to find like minded individuals wanting to get some game time in.
We only have a 4 hour block of time so we'll have to get it all in there. With 8 players or less, it will be 3 rounds 1 hr +/- rounds. 9 to 12 players we'll have to do 4 45 minute rounds. So no chance of doing a playoff, regardless.
We will not be doing the SWM tourney. Are there empty tables anywhere to play at before or after the tourney? Maybe a playoff can be played at one of those. Since 5:30 is close to the end is there a event after the X wing?
Chris
