Is the difficulty of the foundation you play with this effect just the printed difficulty or would you have to pay vitality equal to the printed difficulty of the card + the progressive difficulty already in the card pool.

For example, if you used this effect to play a 2 difficulty foundation from your hand and already had 2 cards in your card pool would you have to pay 2 vitality for just the foundations difficulty, or 4 vitality because of the added progressive difficulty.
