Co-op play which lends to solo play as well

Has anyone ever tried playing with this variant?

If six heroes are playing, each player chooses their hero as normal, however, the gameboard only has a single plastic figure. You move and reach adventure tokens as normal…the variant being that the players are a single party.

So if you hit a green adventure token you would:

Draw X green cards where X = #players. So if there are 6 players, draw six green cards. You then sort them by their attack type, etc. and assign players to "engage" each monster or challenge. (Events are resolved as normal).

All before combat effects are done as usual where each monster uses its effect against he player it is engaged with. A simple rule of one player must engage a unique monster keeps it simple to resolve all before combat effects.

If a player defeats his monster, he may join another player and assist that player (akin to an ally)

If a monster defeats a player, it may join another monster and double attack a player.

If all players are knocked out, then game over. Otherwise, player gets revived no worse for the wear other than not able to help the team and, of course, the object of the game is to hit the final objective as a group and win!

Once a monster/encounter is defeated, every player gets xp and all rewards are tallied and divided amongst the group.

Simple enough, eh? And it totally eliminates the #1 complaint about this game…the wait time each player must endure when it is not their turn.
