I have one question. After I declare a challenge, for example, power and kneel the character. My opponent use event card let my participate character lose all his challenge icon.

Then does my character still consider participate in this challenge or not. If still in challenge, how to count the str.

From the FAQ, p. 23:

If my character loses a military icon in
the middle of a military challenge, is that
character removed from the challenge?

No. Once a character is in a challenge, it can
only be removed from that challenge by an
effect that specifically removes the character
from a challenge, an effect that removes
the character from play, or by an effect that
changes control of that character. Gaining or
losing icons mid-challenge does not affect the
attacking or defending status of that character.

So, if the character is already in the challenge, losing the icon doesn't take it out. And as long as it is participating in the challenge, you count its STR. After all, the rules tell you to add together the STR of all your participating characters, not your participating characters with the appropriate challenge icons.

The way most people describe this is that the only time the game actually cares what icons a character has is when they are declared as an attacker or defender. That's the only time icons matter (unless a card effect specifically looks for an icon).

Am I right in thinking that this is the most F of the AQ?
