Star Player Draft Questions

By Ephraim2, in Blood Bowl: Team Manager

Picked up this game finally and got a game in today. One of the big questions that came up was about the star player deck.

1. Is the star player deck made up of all star players in a league? Or just the star players from the specific teams playing this game?

2. Should your Team Deck only have 12 players? and everytime you "draft" after a highlight you would discard a player to keep it at 12?

Thanks in advance!

The star player decks are broken up into 2 different decks; the OWA and the CWC.

Chaos Skaven and Orcs all draw from the CWC deck.

Humans, Wood Elves and Dwarves all draw from OWA deck.

It does not matter if an Orc player drafts a skaven star player into his team, as long as the star player comes from the associated deck for each team.

You team deck can have more than 12 cards. Star players are in addition to your 12 starting team cards. Freebooters give you the opportunity to remove 1 of your starting team cards and replace it with the freebooter. In this way you can trim down your team deck.

Side note, the humans have a upgrade that allows all star players to have the freebooter ability.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah I didn't get how Star Players are added at first.

One thing to note is normally Star Players get put on top of your team draw deck, after the reveal improvement part of the Scoreboard Phase. So you are bound to get them in your next round.

Freebooters work differently however. You pick up your team draw deck and discard pile, and find a card you want to remove, then add the Freebooter Star Player and shuffle that combined deck and place it ready for the next round*. So you could remove the 1 Star Lineman to replace him with a 3 Star Player for example, it makes it more likely you will get them on later rounds.

*Then add any normal Star Players you might have got this round to the top of that deck.
