2nd edition conversion kit and 1st edition quests

By k7e9, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

We are gamers that play many different games, including descent. Hence, we have not completed all the quests avaliable in the expansions we own for descent 1st edition, and we don't own all the expansions for 1st edition, but we're thinking of completing the collection of 1st edition descent.

That beeing said the rules for 2nd edition looks cool, so we're thinking about picking it up soon and so the question arises; does the Conversion kit allow us to play 1st edition quests with the 2nd edition rules? For example, could we select a quest from the well of darkness expansion, set it up with the floor tiles found in 1st edition and then use the heroes and monsters from the conversion kit to play the map with the second edition rules? Or would that require a lot of conversion work of our own?

There are no rules for converting the quests, only the figures. So all work would be with you. Its not as much that converting would be so hard, then that you get balancing right. So basically lots of work (and trial and error) for youi.

The conversion kit only supplies cards for heroes and monsters, it doesn't cover other bits. I seem to recall having seen a thread somewhere discussing what else from 1E that can be made use of. Someone is also talking about a fan conversion of 1E quests.
