Several of us are waiting on dates and times (for joust and melee tourney) to book travel and lodging arrangements, and everyday that goes by the prices for both are increasing. We are now only 8 weeks out, and for those of us on a tight budget, these small daily price hikes could literally be the difference in whether or not we can come at all. We don't even need EXACT times, but please please PLEASE, a "Joust - Friday Afternoon/Evening; Melee - Saturday Morning" type of time frame announcement asap would be AWESOME.

This is very UNDERWHELMING!!! This does not make me want to go. Friday Melee and Saturday Joust. Look at the time. All-day events. "Demos" on Sunday? I get to spend $300+ for a flight for two jam-packed days of a Thrones tournament? Why didn't FFG announce prizes & rewards for attending? Why don't they ENCOURAGE and ENTICE people to come? What about those of us who won a Regional (or two)? Where do we sign up? Only the $25 entry fee link is available. I'm glad the dates are announced, but where is everything else?

I am pretty shocked at the level of outrage floating around the various boards and chat sites about the schedule. Ya the overlapping of netrunner and thrones is kinda stinky, but threatening to not attend the event at all because of it is a bit silly imo.

True. With 7 games and 8 events, things were going to overlap. That shouldn't be a surprise. The response of "I can't play both so I refuse to play either" is a little strange. Deciding not to attend an event you were shaky about in the first place is one thing; "boycotting" the thing over this is a little different.

I am glad that the AGoT Joust will be held on Saturday. I will be in attendance, along with 3 friends. I am looking forward to a fun weekend!

i am really super pumped now. i think i might be more excited for the melee because i have zero expectations of doing well (only played melee a handful of times). i just wanna play spoiler to people taking it seriously

It's probably a good thing people are complaining about the overlap. Hell the more people that are vocal, the more obvious the size of the community is and the need to reduce overlap. And in all honesty, if the overlap meant instead of paying like $250 per tournament it becomes $500 per tournament, that's pretty significant.

I wonder what the actual size of the A Game of Thrones community is. Have they ever released sales numbers for chapter packs compared to attendance at tournaments? You'd think if the community was large it'd be a selling point and they'd advertise it. Like how WoW is always screaming "WE HAVE 10 MILLION USERS! BUY OUR GAME!"

I'm not sure how advertising they sold 10,000 Core Sets last year and had something like 1,000 people combined from all regionals and nationals is going to really convince new players to pick up the game.

Yeah, I agree. Overlap is necessary the bigger the community is. The smaller the community, the quicker the tournament is done and the less need for overlap. The bigger the community the long the tournament and the more need for overlap.
