@scottie: as you have quoted me in saying, I am disappointed but not surprised. I merely express my opinion as feedback that is intended to be constructive. I feel it's better to say my piece now before the game's release rather than whine about it after.

I haven't seen anything about this game that looks even remotely exciting. Sticking with Netrunner.

I'm confused by the Darth Vader and Luke cards that have them clashing Sabers in their corners. Are these actual cards? Are they characters?

Based on my LIMITED understanding, I believe those are the cards you use to mark a unit that is committed to The Force (Luke for Light, Vader for Dark).

Fair enough. Shuffle cards and play them for points in a different configuration. Netrunner currently looks more interesting to me as well. Other than the images online and GenCon hearsay, I haven't seen much to warrant excitement yet besides the whole Star Wars is awesome thing. I'll need to see the rules, and see if deckbuilding allows pod editing. If not, seems like expansions may get pretty tiring in a hurry. Still….Star Wars IS awesome.

Based on GenCon demo, you are correct. Also, they are indeed limited to 3 per side.

This is something that has been confusing me a little about this aspect of the game - can you only ever commit three characters to the Force, then? Can you swap them if you get a more powerful character but three are already committed? It all seems a bit vague…

The maximum number of units you can have committed at one time is yes, three. And you get them back if that unit dies, but you can't swap them around voluntarily, so you must choose wisely. The only thing I'm not sure on is if there is a rule on how many units you can commit to the Force in a single turn, or if it's capped at one per turn.

It's another highly strategic part of the game imo and another reason I like the mechanic: Do you commit one of your main characters to the Force since they have more Force icons? But then they will get more Focus tokens if you need them to strike (because the mains are also some of the best damagers) and may miss contributing during the Force phase. The Elite keyword or abilities like Luke Skywalker's help, but still. Tough decisions.

So what does everyone think about Leia Organa? No one has commented on her card yet, so I thought I'd bring it up.

2 Resource drop, 3 Force Icons, I Hit Point, a single Unit Damage Icon + a Bonus Objective Damage and Tactics with a win of the Edge Battle.

I like her ability. I think that she will be used to help get you out of those tough spots and regroup your side of the board. The thing is she has to be captured (Leave play) for her ability to go off. Now, this presents the Dark Side with a question? Why do I want her captured? Why give the Rebels a chance to regroup?

I'm hoping for a card that let's you just return a card you control back to your hand, target her, then you can just give her to Vader and set up your next assualt. Lol.

She also adds some beef to any edge battle, considering her 3 Force Icons.

That's a really good point about the Empire not really wanting to capture her. She'd be an excellent candidate for committing to the Force. You could set it up so you have another character, like Yoda or Luke, also committed to the Force, but you use them for attacking. They have 2 focus tokens on them and that leaves Leia with a decent 3 Force icons to contribute to the Force struggle. The empire will want to take her out, since she will be the one opposing them in the Force struggle, but it will free up your stronger committed character if they do.

I'm really eager to find out all the specifics about this game so I can talk more intelligently about the strategy.

It will also assist in the event of all target damage, if I am understanding the discussion. So if someone wants to hit all your units, they will have to hit her, thus triggering her ability. A good shield, potentially, for a horde style deck.
