Check out this preview of the latest 40K game in development. I think it's pretty **** nifty.

You need to find the bit that says

"movie" value=

in this case

the click on the insert /edit flash on the toolbar above the text window and paste that bit in to the URL box:-

The game looks cool - a space marine version of god of war is so my thing.

But since I'm not allowed to distress the straights by posting game videos any more, how about these as inspirations for sword fighting:-

That Space marine game looks totally fun.

The german fencing is pretty cool, but some of their interpretations seem a little wishy-washy. Especially the grappling with the messer, and the disarms?don't get me started.

It's scripted and practiced stage style combat with live steel weapons, and little protection. So things won't be quite as dynamic or fast or realistic as they could be.

Thanks for the tips Dezmond.

Also, check out an old Hong Kong action B-flick with Chow Yun Fat called "Tiger on the beat". Theres a classic fight scene where he ends up "fencing" with chainsaws. Some pretty impressive stunts there, considering the lack of SFX and safety measures in those kinda productions

Edit: Here it is, if you can live with the crappy dubbed-to-english version

It would appear my memory serves me poorly, as it was not Chow, but his co-star who ended up in this fight, but it hardly matters :)

If you honestly think they were using real, running chainsaws while filming that fight then you have a lot to learn about the film industry.

Still, it is a badass sequence!

Nah, not through the whole part, but probably for some of the "near-miss" swipes where they cut up the furniture.

I saw some documentaries about the early hong-kong scene, and they do alot of stuff there that would never pass mustard in Hollywood. Just check out the blooper-tracks on the early Jackie Chan movies. In Armor of God he broke his back trying some idiotic stunt. Fencing with real chain saws though, probably seems like a bad idea even to them ;)
