So I have been fiddling with a new Alternate Career Rank. It started with me wanting to make an Explorator Chief Chirurgeon concept - clearly a member of the Magos Biologis and so on - but I felt that unless several ranks in (Rank 3 or higher) I just couldn't realize that properly as a concept, nevermind the fact that the only way I could get Medicae at Rank 1 was either through Press-Ganged or through Tithed (if memory serves).
Enter the Lex-Chirurgeon. Primarily fluffed as an official (or ex-official) of the Officio Medicae of the Administratum, I have yet to write the text for it or find a suitable image to work with (for some reason, the medical staff of the Warhammer 40k universe suffer from heavy underrepresentation, especially those of the Adeptus Mechanicus persuasion), which is why it has yet to get a proper "page". I did however make the rank itself.
Required Career: Explorator, Missionary or Seneschal.
Alternate Rank: 1 or Higher (5,000 xp)
Other Requirements: Must have Medicae as a trained skill, or take it immediately upon becoming a Lex-Chirurgeon.

The extra prerequisites were added to account for the fact that some of these should not be available early for any career, but is nontheless vital to the concept of a dedicated medical physician. Similarly, Master Chirurgeon is normally not available until later in careers, but regularly at a cost of 500xp, here replaced with 750xp. I was also going to add "Scholastic Lore (Chymistry)" to "Trade (Chymist) +10", but for some reason I forgot, but it is added to my draft.
Thoughts? Ideas?

I know I harp a lot on this, but let me just repeat on how much I hate the software that this forum is based upon. I'd edit my preceding post, but.. I can't.
I updated the image. Replaced the Medicae requirements with Chem-Use, to conform with the aims of the alternate career rank and because Medicae no longer constituted an added necessary "cost", since I chose to make Medicae a prereq. or "postreq." of the rank itself.

Mayhaps consider giving them some drugs with their starting gear? Also, why not just give these fellas Medicae instead of making them buy it.
I do enjoy this build, but starting gear would be fun.
