OK, we know roughly when the first expansion is coming out sometime around 4Q. They've released all what is going to be in it with the new cards, monsters, pieces, and heroes. With it just having two new heroes for the warrior and mage archetypes do you think that they will release pretty soon news for the second expansion with the healer and scout archetypes??? I'm just guessing here, but I think that they already knew what they wanted to do before D2 came out (I think I am safe to assume that). With D2 coming out this summer along with the first expansion coming out this Christmas. I think that the second one with come out in the 1Q of 2013. Then I think we will get our first large expansion in 3Q 2013, so a year from when it first came out.

I bet that we'll be hearing about it sometime around November/Early December. Anyone else think the same, or I am off???

I guess you are right about the expansions.

Personally I like the waiting on new expansions it is at least exciting.

And yes I'm looking forward to new classes for the scouts and healers.

I just wish that in these future expansions your predicting they reprint the miniatures from the first edition, because they are hard to get nowadays.

I actually have a strong feeling that the first two expansions will actually round out the game to be what they intended to make initially, but couldn't due to cost or time implications. The fact that this one has been announced already, so soon after the base game hit the shelves, leads me to believe it's been made for ages - and IMO, was there alongside the base game.

I don't have a problem with this, but I do think it'll mean we won't get any 'meaty' expansions til this time next year, minimum.

And for the record, that's EXACTLY what I think they'll do. Two new characters (Scout and Healer), two new classes for them, couple of new monsters, another condition (I'm expecting 'bleed' weirdly), more tiles, more cards, and a few additional things that are nigh on impossible to guess at

I am new to Descent, and I am about to create standups for the D1 figures: I don't need more sophistication to play them.
I am not eager to see the old figures re-released, because, as you say, I simply want more heroes and monsters.
All the better if FFG move on and offer totally new ones.

Thank you for your support. When I posted this I expected to get bombarded with tons of hate for my opinion. Never did I expect someone to agree with me. I guess that I shouldn't always expect the worst of people. Thank you again for agree with me that FFG needs to grow and expand to succeed.
