Greedy

I know there is a thread involving greedy already!

Greedy allows you to use and action and suffer 1 fatigue to search a search token within 3 spaces.

Search says "if a hero is adjacent to or in a space that contains a search token, he can perform a search action to search. The hero player flips over the search token, if it is not unique the player draws a search card."

So greedy just allows the "adjacent to or in a space" text to be supplanted with "within 3 spaces"

Some people seem to think that that only allows you to search the card but not take the treasure. If that is the case then when would that treasure be obtained?

Would you have to then spend a move action to get to an adjacent square, then what? another action to pick the treasure up?

My understanding is that searching a search card allows you to have the treasure in your possession, even if you are within 3 space, or else what would really be the point of using and action and suffering a fatigue, if you then had to use a move action and potentially another action to pick up the treasure?

There is no rule for picking up treasure other than as indicated by the search action.

Also would Lurk stack with Greedy?

We play where greedy allows you to draw a search card. It would be useless (for the most part) otherwise. I don't have the exact text for Lurk so I can't say exactly how it works.

Yes that is how I feel, it would be a big cost and really no reward if not played like that.

I don't have the card, but lurk is a 3xp card that allows you to essentially have a free action to search, it might cost a fatigue.

So use a fatigue to use lurk, free search action, then use greedy to search, now a free action, but still requires a fatigue to use.

Again, I don't have the exact wording but it seems like they wouldn't stack.

Lurk states: exhaust this card during your turn to perform a search action; this does not require an action. While this card is exhausted add 1 additional brown die to your defense pool.

It cost one fatigue to use. Why could i not exhaust this card to perform a search action for free, then use greedy to search up to 3 spaces away. Unless greedy is technically a skill because it has the skill icon, then I could understand. Also because it adds a brown die, it might assume that you are sneaking away from your group of heroes, and need the added defense, after all, tomble can add defense die to his pool if he is adjacent to other heroes. But then again reading it that way would only benefit tomble being the thief and not jain.

The search action happens immediately after you exhaust it. Atleast, that is how I read it. If it said, "Gain an extra action this turn. That action must be used to perform a search action." Then you could use greedy.

My $.02.

Yeah I think you are most likely correct.
