i trusted amazon with hero's call and was heavily disappointed. they set a release date, i preordered the box. (amazon quote: "pre order now to make sure your copy arrives on time") well, the release date came and amazon delayed my order one week. after a month of delaying they wanted me to cancel the order, as the product was still not in stock. i looked online to find another online retailer who had been selling HC for 3 weeks already. so i finally cancelled the amazon order and got me a copy in a good shop worth buying from.
i never even got any answer from amazon customer support why they could never deliver the order….
hands off of amazon for me!!

I had the exact same frustrating experience. Eventually Amazon sent me an email telling me to try a third-party seller. They claimed not enough people pre-ordered it to merit carrying Hero's Call. wtf?

same happened to me - coincidently I had a trip to NYC and visited a rpg store where I got it.
In my experience, randomly choosing dates is far more accurate than Amazon's rpg release date estimates.
