Calling all UFSrs out there that may hail from the western states and anyone else interested, we have a regional!!! Santa Clara, CA. April 25th and 26th. Game Kastle. 1350 Coleman Ave. Santa Clara, CA. 95050.

So here is the skinny. Sat 25: Legacy Tourny 12:00-3:00PM. Regional Tourny 4:00-9:00PM. Sun 26: Teams Tourny 4:00-9:00PM.

More info to come in the very near future.

Woot! UFS making a showing in the SF Bay Area...looong over due!

I'm there!

All things given, I'll be there.

And I'll try and bring a crew with me as well.

Woot! And, now that Promo Rocky is legal, i might just have to build him for the tourney! aplauso.gif

OMG, a larger event I might actually be able to travel too. I'm stoked. BTW if anyone else is driving into santa clara and is interested in sharing a hotel room LMK.

Hey Y'all...April really is right around the bend!

So...who's plannin' on making it out to this event? Shout it out Loud and Proud, yo!

For my part...I can account for myself, Brynsul, Blankadude, and Dart132 being present and accounted for!

Who else???

I'm going to be there. There should also be at least two other ppl coming from sacramento. I would like to how if possible how much each event costs, and what the team event entails exactly.

I might be jumpin the gun in letting this one out, but $20 will cover the cost of all 3 events for that entire weekend. Also, i've talked with Blankadude, and there will be a TON of prizes and awards for numerous players, not just Top8 and Champion!

Stay tuned for more details...!!!

sadly i cant make it cuz its in the middle of ball season.... o man ball is killing my ufs life!

okay folks. information time is here, and with plenty of details!!! first off, i look forward to seeing you all at " The Silicone Cup: Battle for the Bay " UFS West Coast Regional. The location information has been posted already. As for my good friend Rockstar being this administration's "official" leak and rumor source, I can indeed verify a number of things that have been hinted at.

First off, the legacy tournament that is being held before the Regional is going to be a fast paced, single elimination, martial arts tournament style inspired, event. Yes it is different, but it looks like it will be a whole lot of fun.

Secondly, there will be more than just the standard prizes for the Regional players and the top 8. I will not give away anymore than that (Rockstar, LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS [or UFS tournaments] in this area) lol. There is an awesome door prize that brynsul has provided (thank you much buddy) that is up for grabs. As well as one or two other things that may fall into place over the next few weeks leading up to the event.

Third, the entry fee will be $20. That will cover the Cup and the Team event the next day. (More information on the Team event will be posted shortly).

The last part of this installment of information regarding the tournament is this: BRING THE DECK THAT YOU WANT TO BRING!!! I will personally be playing Blanka for both tournaments. This event is all about having fun, and enjoying the game and the good times that it provides.

I hope to see you all there at " The Silicone Cup: Battle for the Bay ". April 25th and 26th

Does this mean there is another entree fee for the legacy tournament? Or that it's a free event?

Also I have a couple silly ideas in the back of my mind. Since on sunday the team event doesn't start until 4pm (am I right on that?), maybe earlier in the day we could have a more casual tournament perhaps? It wouldn't need to be a big hoop-la, just something interesting (can you blame me for trying to cram as much UFS in as possible) ;) Here's two things off the top of my head: Standard Highlander - only one of each card, including cards in your SB. Normal banned rules apply. Or Chaos Highlander: 4-12 entrants draw UFS symbols out of a hat. They have 30-45 minutes to build a 60 card deck (including character) where every card HAS to have that symbol. This means no splashing and no infinity unless the card has your symbol AND infinity on it. Normal banned rules apply. This format could be Standard or Legacy. I'm hoping only one of each card will help balance any issues of symbols being stronger than any other.

Again these are just crazy ideas, take them or leave them :)

$20 covers all fees associated with this Regional Event for the entire weekend. aplauso.gif

Hey All,

Blankadude asked that i not give out direct spoilers for the UFS Regional, so i won't. However, if y'all would be so kind as to check out GameKastle's home page, there is a nice little blurb about what all will be going down that weekend. Simply go to the main page and look under "Spotlight Events".

Dang makes me wish lived closer to the west coast sounds like it will be an awesome weekend.

Oh man, those prizes are awesome.

Yes they are!! Teams on Sunday will be similarly cool!

So, come out and join the party, man!!!

I might be bringing two new UFS players to this event. They are struggling to get the cards they need to fit the flavor of their decks. Of course I donate/let them borrow what i have, but I was wondering if any of your UFS players also play magic and would be interested in trading UFS for magic?

hey man, do you think that you could send a list of the cards that your guys need and rockstar and i will see what we can do. and i know that there will be people who play magic and ufs that will be at the tourny. so i think that trading ufs for magic or visa-a-versa would definately be possible.

I'm working on it.
Mapquest says Santa Clara is a TWELVE HOUR drive from where I am right now, so I am working on putting a small group together to share the drive loads.

I may be able to pull Jean Cox out of retirement as well.

Awesome! I remember Jean Cox; cool cat! Also, since I know this Regional event is a 2-day event, let Blankadude and i know if y'all need help with sleeping arrangements. Anything we can do to make it easier for y'all to make the trek, we'll definitely try and accommodate.

i concur with my compatriot (correct spelling???). let us know if you need help findin a place to stay, eat cheap, get less expensive gas... we are here to help.

If anybody would be up for either letting us crash on their floor for a couple nights or pointing us in the direction of a decent hotel that'd be great.

The current game plan is to leave after classes on Friday, drive all day, get there sometime in the early morning on Saturday, Sleep a bit, then show up and hang out/playtest until the standard tournament, as none of us are capable of Legacy cheese (me without any legacy cards, and everybody else potentially coming being new players).

Hey Arch, I think we can certainly make accomodations for you and your crew. How many are joining you?

Actually, this is April 1st, Ladies and Gents. So, no April Fools prankin' allowed: Roll Call! Who's plannin' on making our lil' sware' and how many folk you bringin' with you??

Holla!!! gran_risa.gif
